I have an equipment pole barn that is 350' from my T-Mobile WiFi Modem/Router. I installed this range extender to enable the use of a security camera at the pole barn, allowing me to monitor my equipment. I installed it as an AP, and it was surprisingly easy to install since it does not need A/C power at the device. The range is very good.

Took a while to set up...as I was using the wrong example. Once set up - the difference was incredible! Coverage to my 4 wireless devices (all cameras) went from low/weak to STRONG! Only issue I have is...heat! Even in a cool ambient environment (70 degrees) the surface temp on the device was ~100 degrees (F). Anyone else experience this?

Lives up to what the ads say about this extender. I would buy it again. The price is just right too.

I gave this 3 stars due to the setup confusion Wavlink caused with their company videos. If you're trying to change between router/extender/repeater all the instructions say you go through all the setup then select it at the end. In fact there is a SMALL, UNHIGHLIGHTED word "switch" at the very beginning of the setup you have to change. If you miss this you have to reset everything to the factory settings and try again. I did it 7 times after watching multiple videos that never revealed it so the 3 stars for the 2 hours of aggravation it put me through. Otherwise the repeater is great and I would highly recommend it.

I am a bit perplexed regarding the installation parameters on this device. It is marketed as an outdoor model, and I intend to use at as such, but the instructions indicate that it should not be exposed to humidity. Rain seems humid to me. It could be that the interface unit and power supply could be the items not to be exposed, and I can understand that as the interface module is totally open to water intrusion. There is a bit to be desired in translation between Chinese and English, but there again, I can speak no Chinese so they did a fair job, all things considered. The instructions indicate that the RJ 45 cable be inserted through the seal. This is not going to happen. The seal needs split. There is a fine line on the seal indication the correct place to cut it into the thru hole for the cable. The instructional video on YouTube indicates the seal is pre-split. Mine was not. Using the old school method of accessing the set up page (192.168.10.1) popped me directly in to the set up page. From there set up was quick and straight forward. I am only using mine as a repeater for security cameras so the set up was very simple. Time will tell how well this unit functions, but my initial observations are favorable.

Since nothing I’ve tried hasn’t worked I kept the box ready for a refund but I was surprised. It’s working great, I’m getting a signal 300 feet from the house. One day I’m gonna go in my neighbors pasture to see just how far I can go before losing the signal. We don’t have cellular towers out here so I’m super happy…

Setting up this wifi extender was a bit frustrating at first. Had to rest the extender and complete the setup a second time on the computer.
