Excellent outdoor timer - use for Halloween and Christmas lights
This is a great solid timer. It will turn off a number of lights with good accuracy. Even if you have a power outage, it will hold a charge for quite a while, doing away with fears of losing your program. Speaking of "program" the capabilities are almost TOO good. You can work dusk to dawn or specifically make time settings for each, or all of the days of the week. Start by reading all the directions carefully and then spend a minute or two learning the functions of every button. I have even written down descriptions to remind me. Then sit back and figure out what, exactly, you want to program (write it down if necessary - raw a diagram.) You can even set a number of on/off times for a single day or days - or make it work at random times. I suppose if you wanted to drive your neighbors nuts, or have them question your sanity, you could really play with the programming! Have fun with this but don't get discouraged! Take your time a pay attention to the readout, it will eventually become "almost" simple. Good luck with this great product. By the way, you can do all the programming indoors, then transport it to your outdoor outlet.

New technology is Wonderful!!
This is the best outdoor timer I've ever used. Easy to program and very reliable. I'd recommend this to anyone needing a timer.

Awful product
I purchased 2 timers last Christmas. They never worked properly, and I should have returned them, but I kept trying. I do not like to write bad reviews, but I have just had enough. They are almost impossible to read, the directions are awful, and after you figure it out, they do not work properly. They are just junk. I hope the supplier reads this and responds.

Works if you can figure out how to program
I have had mine for two Christmases now and year 2 was more frustrating to program than last year was. To the point that yesterday I was ready to email the company to say it didn't work anymore. I eventually randomly stumbled into the proper programming sequence and got it set, but today I honestly couldn't tell you what I did. The programming instructions are terrible! If I had known how difficult it is to program I would never have bought this to begin with,The good part is if you do break the set up codes, it does work reliably and it conveniently holds three power cords which is what my decorations require. A lot more convenient than using three separate timers like I did before. But think of Clark Griswold slamming his two power cords down on the snow, starting his simulated cussing and then kicking his reindeer decorations. That could be you as you are trying to figure out how to get this thing to work!UPDATE - Within a day or two the company responded to my issues by emailing me revised instructions (including photographs and a step by step explanation) that made the programming much easier. Once programmed, the timer itself is again working reliably for the second Christmas season I have owned it. With the more complete instructions I can definitely recommend it to prospective buyers. Thank you, Dewenwils team, for the attentive customer service!

Christmas lights timer
The media could not be loaded. Â Great timer with weatherproof body and features like scheduling. I use mine with the Dusk to dawn timer and it works perfectly. Would recommend this for the features alone. Internal electronics retain the programming even after removing from the outlet.

Decent but won't last
Initially works great. Used it for my outdoor Christmas lights and tree set up. Originally purchased in 2021, and lasted that Christmas and 2022's Christmas. Today (November 2023) I went to get my Christmas lights setup, and despite having it plugged in for over 30 minutes, the screen won't display anything. I've tried resetting and pressing all the buttons, but nothing will show on the screen. It is now useless which is disappointing. I would expect this to last more than 2 Christmas displays.

has a hard to find and very useful feature and a good user guide
Second one of these I have purchased here, one was last year and still fine. This one's reliability as yet unknown but is identical. The reason I purchase these models is because after lengthy research it is the only reasonably priced model that allows you to combine the photocell and timer modes. Other models force you to choose dusk-to-dawn, or dusk on then certain number of hours till off, or certain time on then certain time off. This means that as the time when dusk occurs changes either the time when it shuts off also changes (dusk+hours mode) or it doesn't turn on at dusk anymore (Time on then time off mode). So throughout the year you have to keep changing the settings. This model lets you choose on at dusk then off at a specified time, perfect for outdoor lighting year round turns on at dusk then off at a time you want (like bedtime so they dont shine in windows and keep people awake or a time when people aren't cruising by anymore to check out your Christmas lights, etc). It also has multiple On/Off per day options and specific days of the week options so you can use it as an irrigation pump timer. There's even a random mode if you want to use it for indoor lighting to simulate that someone is home if you are away.In the interest of fully advising people I should point out that this company is like many others selling electronic items these days. They don't manufacture anything, they buy stuff from Asian companies and print their name and the lettering or pictures on buttons on it and their own version of the manual. This exact unit is available from other brands you may or may not have heard from, and can be found in a popular big box store, although at a higher price. There is a mildly confusing learning curve to setting it up because of how many features it has, but the manual for this company's version of the product is well written, just expect to have to study it a bit first. The buttons and on screen icons are pretty intuitive which helps a lot.

Works well! Did exactly what I needed.
Now that Christmas is over, I can provide a review of this programmable timer. For the longest time, i was running outside at midnight to unplug the Christmas nights and I felt this was something I should automate. Checked out my local stores but couldn't find anything that would do the job and found this one on Amazon.ca that had good reviews and meets my requirements. The good: It does exactly what it says it does. It turns lights on at the programmed time and also turns them off at the programmed time. No second guessing. It just works and works well. It also seems durable and will definitely last the West Coast Canadian winters. The needs improvement: the UI is seemingly confusing to program. I wouldn't say it's hard because the instructions are included but I think that the instructions could be clearer. Especially the part where it says you need to do a reset first before programming. I also wish the instructions were bigger. They're on a piece of paper with small font. A booklet might have been nicer; chances are by Xmas 2020, I'll have lost those instructions and have no idea how to program it again. The other thing I would like is a quicker way to test the programming is correct. It's too clumsy to set up a time to test and then to set it up for the proper times that you really are interested in.Overall, it does what it needs to do. The product is good and durable. It's the UI and potential maintenance afterwards that knocks it down to 4 stars.

Works well, could used clearer operating instructions
The unit appears to be well made. Once you understand the instructions it is easy to set up. Helps if you have had similar timers before.

Does not work
In spite of watching the instruction video 4 times and reprogramming the timer multiple times, it never turned the lights on or off.

Awesome
Only had it for 2 weeks but it was super easy to set the timer on it and has worked perfectly even through our -40 Celsius cold snap, pretty good buy for the price
