We've got a skunk problem. Those critters have been destroying my lawn and my last-ditch effort is to utilize lighting to try to scare them away before my yard turns into the dust bowl. I researched several brands of both battery and solar powered options and decided on the Philips solar outdoor lights due its supposed combination of brightness, solar sensitivity, water resistant body, range, ease of installation and value.Out of the box, the two lights appeared well made, were well packaged and included all the mounting hardware needed. Being a major company was a bonus for piece of mind and an included manual that made sense. I mounted the 2 lights around 30' apart on our shed's siding using a siding mounting plate purchased from HD. One problem I had were the included screws were too short to go through the plate, siding and catch the wood sheathing so another trip to HD solved the problem by getting longer #6 screws. The lights easily attach via a mounting plate and the light body just clips right into place. This is perfect because the lights can be easily removed if needed and it makes mounting easier. The lights are easily adjusted to increase or decrease the range of view and the solar panel and sensor both have a vertical adjustment although less than the lights. That may be one thing I would have liked to see is a bit more adjustability with the direction of the solar panel. There are three modes with one being on low power, one on motion sensor only and one on a combination. I opted for the motion sensor which stays on for 20 seconds. I do wish that could be adjusted a bit too but not a dealbreaker.So far the lights work great, they have been catching animals at night with a good sensor range and are very bright. I can't attest to the durability yet but I'm glad it is a major brand that can be contacted if something goes wrong.Positives+ Good value with two units for a good price+ A major brand with a real support mechanism+ The three lights with adjustability are very flexible and lets you increase or decrease the range+ The sensor seems to have a decently wide field of view and has some adjustability up and down+ Build quality seems good (can't attest to waterproof yet)+ Detaches from bracket to make installation easy+ Very bright as a motion sensor at full powerNegatives- Could perhaps use a bit more adjustability with the solar panel. Its angle of adjustment is limited by the light body itself.- Not really a negative but it would be great to have some ability to adjust the time of the sensor- Included screws were a bit short for siding. I think a longer screw would be beneficial considering this is outdoor and could be mounted on siding.

They are bright to be a small size and 1 lights up my whole front yard which is a good 80' wide by 60'. As soon as i step out the door i have instant light to see where im going without using electric porch lights. I ordered another set of 2 to place around my bigger backyard to scare off wildlife predators. So far so good & i'm satisfied with the lights and suggest watching the videos others have included in their review.

Bad reviewers didn’t follow instructions. Inbox these lights, set them out in the sun to charge all day before playing with them.They are cleverly folded into a cube for packing. It will open up once you manipulate it.Mounting is straightforward. You can mount a base and clip the light on, or you can self tap screw the fixture on. Easy.There are 3 modes - as per the instructions. They are also pictured in the ad. You click thru the modes - easy.Motion detection. IT WILL ONLY TURN THE LIGHTS ON AT NIGHT. Read that again if you wonder why it doesn’t work. Lights do not function unless it’s dark out. Easy.

Very bright although the light doesn’t go a far distance. A larger version of this light would reach a further distance. Saving on electricity is great. One of the mounts broke off after a storm so I propped it up in my yard. It does need direct sunlight to charge as I tried to prop it against my house and the amount of sun wasn’t enough so definitely a light you put on a fence or separate post that doesn’t have sunlight obstruction. The light doesn’t seem to last the entire night as I see it going dim and that’s with it switching from bright to dim throughout the nighttime.

We bought these lights to illuminate our pet yard at night. We have four of them to cover an area that is about 30 feet wide and 30 feet deep.We like that we can adjust the angle of the photo eye sensor as well as the solar panel on top. TheLights automatically turn on when our dogs walk within about 10 feet of them. They stay on for about 30 seconds if the dog leaves or stops moving, but resume as soon as that changes.Overall they are working out well so far! They are very bright and remind me of a high schoolFootball field illuminated for a night game.Give them a try!

I needed a solar solution to light a very dark corner of a rental property. The low "always on" is very convenient to allow just enough light to be aware of your surroundings, followed by the full power when picked up by the motion sensor. Motion sensing is very good for my application, and it is really great that pretty much every light angle and the motion sensor can all be independently adjusted. Even with the always-on low power it lasts all night on a day's charge. It is well-built for the money, but you shouldn't expect it to feel bombproof at this price point.

Installed these yesterday, it was overcast and rainy, but right out of the box once it got dark, I was extremely impressed at how well these worked and how bright the illumination was, without being fully charged.Installation literally takes less than a minute, and is a wonderful solution when hard wiring lights is not an option.. affordable, very functional, definitely buying more.

Definitely recommend buying this, have these set up on the front of my house and they light up my driveway so well at night. No regrets!
