Purchased for our six-year-old for Christmas. Adores them. Great little stories. Wholesome, non-agenda-driven. He devoured them and goes back to them occasionally.

I read these to my daughter when she was btw 4-6 years old. We use to go to the public library and fill a basket to take home and read for the week. We read every one the library had, and we laughed our heads silly. I had no idea there were more in the collection, so when I saw this, I got them to read and share with my grandchildren. When they arrived, I opened the box and read the ones we hadn’t read, and they did not disappoint. Brought back fond memories of bedtimes stories with her. I’m sure these and others like “Henry and Mudge” gave her the love for reading she has today. Buy them!! Re won’t regret it!

These books were simply charming. I love the innocent and every day drama. I like for little kids to read books about diversity in ages too and these are all about an older man and his pet cat. I also liked there were some morals and lessons to be taught in the stories. For example when he made a cake for his neighbor for Christmas, you learn perseverance, when he falls asleep and his friend waits to eat the cake with him you see kindness, both are showing sacrifice to love the other person. In that book you also learn that sales people can take advantage of you (who needs 3 sifters?). There are not many first chapter books that are worth the time to read, but these were. UPDATE - this is not a complete set. There are 25 books that I have found.

My grandson loves these books. Shoot. I love these books. They're fantastic. Mr. Putter is the man.
