If you need a pound, and don't want to take any chances, this is your pound. For those of us that need things like this, this is worth the $40 ish it costs. The cardboard box and plastic case it comes in are handy too.

I bought this to check the scale at the butcher shop. My postage scale kept telling me I was getting less than I paid for. Took it to the shop, they put in their scales, all of them, and every one was perfectly 1 lb. They were gracious about it and glad to be able to assure other customers.
