Das Lied von der Erde in Full Score (Dover Orchestral Music Scores)

Great study score

I only have a small amount of musical training, having played in my high school band, but that was enough to inspire me to be interested in music for the rest of my life. This is fun to have, even if you only have a small amount of education in music.

Well printed score and easy to use to follow along with a recording. Every line is in fine detail and really a bargain for the price.

Print is so small it's illegible. Format not very convenient for music scores either., since moving around the score is much harder than a real book :(I used this on Kindle for iPad on a retina 10 inch iPad, I believe it's called generation 4 iPad or such.

The score is exactly what I knew it would be, a representation of the great work of Mahler. What I didn't know is that it would include the translation of the text used for the vocal part. Bravo Dover!

DO NOT BUY. The photocopy quality of this Dover score is quite unreadable. This item should never have been offered for sale.Amazon withdraw it immediately or have arrangements for immediate refunds. It is totally useless. The same goes for the digital copies of Mahler Symphonies 1 & 2.

I have nothing but admiration for Dover publications. The quality of legibility is excellent. I use these publications to follow live and recorded renditions of the score.

Dover editions are usually off-prints of obscure imprints. The symphony 8 in this series is of a Russian copy. Das lied is a print of the uncorrected earlier Universal Edition plates, but is fine for score reading. I wouldn't say the binding is 'perfect'; several of my other Dover scores have split over the years, but it's just as good as any other paperback binding.

I tried this both on my Mac and on the Kindle and it is impossible to read. Perhaps technology has not advanced far enough to provide a clear version of a musical score (albeit a rather old one). It is too small on the Kindle and too blurred on the computer screen. Simply not worth buying.I need to be able to read well enough to play parts of the score on the keyboardThe publishers should be aware that the German text of the poems is full of typos.
