Still too early to say.

At least one seed sprouted!
I followed the instruction about refrigeration. Bay Area spring weather is good for germination. I got one seedling out of 100. I would change to five stars if one more could sprout. They traveled all the way from Japan to Bay Area. Welcome to the United States!

Pretty Plant, but no true health claims
These plants do well in potted plants then I transfer them. They look like parsley, but when it was time to harvest them, the inner stem is yellow. I think its supposed to be like that. The plant itself is bitter, and most people hang them dry to either grind it into powder or ideally, to make tea out of it. My mom wanted me to buy it for her, as a liver detox, but according to WebMD, it has little evidence for health claims, and may help with balancing out with cholesterol and stomach acid in another study. Then again, I wouldn't fall for these health claims, unless it has been proven to do something.

Plan Ahead and Plant Right Away!
The seeds arrived with many green, fresh ones to use. The seeds are highly perishable, and mailing them to Hawaii in late spring is a risky proposition. I will need to figure out how to keep them in a cool, damp place with natural light, since our temperatures only hit upper 60โs at night. I am confident that I am up for the challenge, though. Iโll update this post with the results.UPDATE: So itโs a month later. I went ahead and left the seeds refrigerated for 2 weeks. When I went to plant them, I saw that, like coriander seeds, they are twins! They are just starting to germinate. So far, 4 out of the 200 have come up, but I have faith more will pop out soon.

Some germination tips
The instructions say keep in fridge for 3 days, others say much longer, up to a month. I found it didn't make much difference, if anything the 3-days worked better. I kept them sealed in Zip-Locks to keep moisture level constant. (some in damp paper, others in damp potting soil - no difference in result.) After taking out the fridge I kept them in their sealed bags so as not to have to worry about keeping them damp. And in a temperature controlled environment at 69 deg - instructions said that is optimal for germination (I'm a brewer so had the gear handy) About 50% of all samples sprouted within 15-20 days. And 50% was good enough for me.

It does not seem to sprout. Or if it ...
It does not seem to sprout. Or if it sprouts the germination rate is way low...( I forget to mark some of it so now I cannot tell which plant is which in my garden..)
