AC Infinity Controller 1, Thermal Trigger for AIRPLATE, MULTIFAN, USB Fans

My AV receiver is located on the top shelf of a wooden built-in media cabinet. I have no doors on the cabinet, and any heat emanating from my AV equipment must vent through the front. My receiver sits on the top shelf and has about 4 inches of clearance above the cooling vents. However, heat used to get trapped between the top of the receiver and the top of the cabinet. Not anymore though! I placed a AC Infinity MULTIFAN S2 on top of the receiver vent and it blows all heat out the front of the cabinet. What I like about this fan is (i) it is well made, (ii) it has insulated rubber feet to isolate itself acoustically from the receiver, (iii) it has three fan speeds, (iv) its a blower configuration that blows the air forward vs. upwards, and best of all (v) it is very quiet. In the "Low" setting - which is sufficient for my needs - the fan's noise level is barely a whisper and cannot be heard across the room when all music is off. The fan is powered by USB or optional AC adapter. To mine I added a compatible thermal switch (the AC INFINITY CONTROLLER 1, Thermal Trigger) that activates the fan only when heat build-up exceeds a set point set by me. Once the receiver cools down after turning it off, the thermal switch turns the fan off via a small sensor placed on top of the cooling vents. The fan and thermal switch are connected by USB, and installation is straightforward and very easy. Some background - I've been using AC Infinity products for 5 years (as of April 2024). They're great because the build great products that excel for the market they're intended to be used for. While the price is higher than their competitors, it is worth it. I purchased this temperature sensor for a niche purpose. I have a La-Z-Boy double recliner with a built-in armrest storage unit w/ AC outlets inside. It also has dual trays which are perfect for laptops. But I feared putting a 250 watt gaming laptop power supply in the storage unit due to the heat that it makes. To combat the heat, I purchased The AC Infinity Controller 1, and connected it to a set of dual 40mm fans. I also modified the back of the storage unit to accommodate the fans and am exhausting the air out of the back of the storage unit, instead of blowing air into it. This design is cool and efficient, and the Controller handles turning the fans on and off as desired. I also appreciate they programmed hysteresis into the controller so it doesn't constantly turn on and off at the target temperature. I don't have the # in front of me but I want to say it's 2-3 degrees F below the selected temperature. I'm incredibly happy with its design. It has worked as desired for about 2 months now, and I anticipate it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Thermal trigger worked perfectly for my application, controlling two 1W USB fans to cool a mini PC inside a wooden cabinet that was getting hot. Initially I thought the trigger was faulty because after cycling once it would power off and remain off. BUT I put a meter on it and found that my cheap USB power supply voltage was dropping to ~2v when the load cycled on, so the trigger would power down. I upgraded my power supply and the thermal trigger now works exactly as described. AC Infinity's tech support was responsive and helpful.

This controller has been a lifesaver after I had to relocate my PS5 inside the TV stand to keep it away from little hands. Installation was simple, and I mounted the temperature sensor just above the PlayStation so the AC Infinity fans automatically kick on when needed. The controller has worked reliably and gives me the fan speed control I need without having to constantly monitor the cabinet myself. I haven't had a single overheating issue since installing it. Simple setup, useful included accessories, and it has done exactly what I bought it for.

I used this in my kitchen along with AC infinity twin 120mm fans (that I already had) to help venting our new air fryer in the corner of our kitchen. the corner cabinet has a large space behind it in the corner so I placed the temp sensor in the gap behind the cabinet and the fans on top. When using the air fryer it heats up the space behind it and the fans help draw up the hot air and out above the cabinets. The unit has 4 temp settings and it will turn back off when it is 4 degrees below that setting making it easy for this application. It is small and easy to place and I know it will be durable being from AC infinity.

Love this fan, it runs in my cabinet and cools off my NAS drive, router, and switch. The thermostat is a bit slow to respond and it drops 5 degrees before shutting off. The bottom line is it keeps the temp at a safe point, just test to see which setting to choose to have it kick on at the temp you want. The number on the temp control is not what it kicks on at, because you can place the sensor close or far away from the hot item.

Working with two fans now installed in my AV cabinet. Turns fans on when cabinet heats up and controls both fans keeping my receiver cooler and saving my components should have purchased much sooner.

Works exactly as described. I have a couple of class D amps stacked with very little space available between them. Put the sensor between them, hooked it up to the fan as indicated and the amps have stayed cool despite extensive use.

Angefangen mit der sehr guten Verpackung über die Produkt- und Funktionalität kann ich ausschließlich positives abgewinnen. Ich nutze dies in Verbindung mit einem AC Infinity MULTIFAN S4 140mm USB Lüfter zur Vermeidung eines Wärmestau's unter meinem aktiv belüfteten Induktionsfeld. Der Sensor ist bei mir auf 92f eingestellt und reagiert perfekt darauf. Da ich kein Elektriker bin, kam für mich das direkte anschließen an den Stromkreislauf im Kochfeld nicht in Frage. Somit suchte ich eine Lösung, bei der meine Frau beim kochen nicht ständig daran denken muss einen Lüfter ein/aus schalten zu müssen.
