Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis offers two very distinct game styles, giving players the opportunity to run and maintain their own dinosaur theme park and also challenging them to run the gauntlet through 12 missions where the park attractions have broken loose and are running wild. The game allows you to fulfil Dr John Hammond's dream and test your skills against the awesome powers of nature and its most dominant creatures.

Still very enjoyable nearly 20 years later
I was worried that this game might not have aged all to well. But I actually really enjoyed it after all this time.Obviously it has aged, and I may have a rose tinted view of this one, but I do believe that this game would appeal to fans of Jurassic Park. As far as a theme park simulator goes, this one really kept my attention.I should mention that this game requires a lot of thought before you do anything in the beginning. There are consequences if you don't build and manage your park well. For example, nobody likes being chased by an escaped dinosaurs.

If your PS2 consol can't read blue disks, don't bother.
When I got the game I was excited, up until I opened it and saw it was a blue disk and had doubts. I inserted the game regardless and with hardly no expectations, as predictably "Disk read error."

Classic Dino Sim
This game is great because it is a very similar game to zoo tycoon and other management games in gameplay, but with the added unpredictability of rampaging dinosaurs. My 10 year old son loves it, and despite the 12 rating there is nothing too gory in the game, as the graphics are a little bit dated! More than the sum of its parts, this game is great on so many levels, it deserves classic status. Play how you like, with mission based play or simple park management.

PS2 buyers, be careful, it's not playing on most PS2 consoles
Neverending headache trying to get it to actually play on a PS2. Abandoned the effort and replaced it with a PC version for Win7.
