MV-90 Magnetic Dryer Vent Coupling

This produce solved a long standing air flow issue I had with a dryer vent in a very small laundry room. The design makes it easy to install. The material is thick and eliminates the worry of developing a pull apart of the vent hose as with most standard arrangements. After installing several loads ago, I have not had a single “AIR FLOW” warning with my dryer. Works great, and makes me feel good knowing that the air is being removed from the house properly which reduces fire risk.

If your dryer is under a heavy counter (ie granite) of some kind like ours this is a really helpful venting solution. Once you’ve installed the two sides the magnets will automatically seat as they get close forming an air tight seal. It can be pulled out for cleaning or service and then just pushed back into place. You definitely hear it when those magnets connect. I was concerned about the flex hose on the dryer side but according to MagVent specs the flex transition hose is UL 2158A rated so it seems like no worries with code. Our venting path is downward into the basement and then over to the wall. The 90 degree MagVent was the only possible solution given our 2x4 framing and in-wall obstructions. I ran it through the floor, extended it slightly and then connected it to a Dryer-ELL 90 to minimize run length penalties. The net was a safe installation and clean look.

Amazing! Works exactly as advertised. Very well made. Magnetic strength is exceptional. If your washer and dryer are in a tight area this is exactly what you need. Installation was easy.

Arrived the next day after I ordered it. Easy to install. Took longer to clean up the lint that had leaked out behind the old connection than it did to install new connection. 1' flex hose that attaches to dryer allowed easy magnetic connection to 90 elbow that goes down into our basement. Our dryer did not line up exactly with original vent pipe that was installed by previous owner. It was almost impossible to get dryer to line up with old 90 & not leak. Magnets seal well & 1' flex hose allowed easy connection for mis-aligned vent pipe. Wish I had found this product earlier!!

This is exactly what we were looking for. It is simple to install and works really well. The magnets are strong enough for the pieces to align and stay connected. My dryer sits further back now (which I love). This new hook up will allow us to easily pull the dryer out to clean the vent on a regular basis. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Very easy install, works great and priced right. Solved the problem of vent hose coming off in very tight quarters.Love it!

Excellent concept. Reasonable DIY upgrade. Strong magnets. I expect the decrease in hose length and straighter route will improve drying and decrease drying time. ONE downside: the part that attaches to the drying has a short flexible hose and a metal ring to clamp it to the rigid exhaust pipe of the dryer. The ring had a UPC sticker on it that said 4”, but the metal ring itself was stamped 4½”. That 4½” ring was never going to tighten securely around the 4” exhaust pipe. Took me forever to figure out that it wasn’t user error but the wrong size ring was provided. (The 4½” ring was incorrectly labeled by the manufacturer, so I don’t blame the seller.) Trip to the store to buy a 4” ring fixed the issue. Except for that parts problem and the extra time and expense to remedy it, this would be a 5 star review. Otherwise 👍
