Fiddle Time Runners with CD: A second book of easy pieces for violin Paperback – Audiobook, 13 Mar. 2003

This is the second book of the series that I have purchased for my daughter. Her violin teacher suggested these books and I think they are fantastic. My daughter is 8 and she loves them. The CD really helps her improve her playing and makes playing more fun.As there are some comments here about the CD missing, I would like to mention that when I ordered the book it arrived without the CD. As the item description on Amazon mentions the CD, I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement book with CD which arrived within 24 hours. Now I just need to return the book that has no CD. This is excellent customer service, all free including the phone call and all postage. Thank you Amazon!

The book is in good condition - but - someone has has used pen instead of pencil to assist the pupil.

My 7 yo daughter found this book very enjoyable. The pieces are varied in terms of style and technical difficulty. Some of the songs are quite upbeat, and are tunes you can dance along with. It definitely made violin learning much more intersting for her. The CD is very useful for helping a learner to start off, and for a learner to check that their timing and intonation are correct. I think it is a great book for ABRSM grade 1-2.

Such good books. I am an adult who has come back to learning the violin. As I am teaching myself, I wanted a book with a CD and these books are perfect. A great selection of songs and various instruments accompany you on the CD. Perfect books for children and adults.

I ordered this late in the day, but my daughter got it in time for her lessons because it was delivered quickly. She did not have a CD with her first book, so the addition of the CD has helped with hearing what the tunes should sound like!

I received the book but no CD.

Good, but i ordered this book with a violin chinrest, another book and rosin. Only this book arrived but in about 2 weeks.

The book is great and is just what my Daughters Violin instructor asked her to get. The included CD helps her to hear how the tunes should sound - quick delivery too.

Unser Sohn hat mit dem ersten Buch in England gelernt, hier hat der Geigenlehrer die "Runners" Version angefuegt. Die Stuecke sind toll, die CD ist enorm motivierend, da man nicht nur die Melodie staendig anhoeren kann und sich im Rhythmus etc. korrigieren kann, sondern vor allem die Begleitung dazu hoert. Jedes Stueck ist ein kleines Konzertchen - und er lernt eine Menge dazu, auch ausserhalb der Geige.

After being a frequent substitute teacher in middle and high school orchestra, I decided to learn to play the violin. With my violin tuned up and my bow tightened, I was ready to play. The school orchestra teacher had given me a copy of the first-year book, but it didn't suit my needs. Fiddle Time Jogger was one of the most fun and pleasant books I encountered for beginners. It has eleven pieces played with open strings, which is helpful and encouraging. The CD that accompanies the book gives a lively accompaniment to the music that make a beginner sound good. The songs are interesting, with many familiar melodies. The progression is simple and does not bog down with music theory. As an adult who could already read music Fiddle Time Joggers was a great way to get started playing real music on the violin. In just over two months, I was ready to start on Fiddle Time Runners, the second book in the series, also with accompanying CD.
