Best engine for kids ever!
Really good engine for kids; instructions are great, and functionality is great, but the chain was wonky and then ended up working. are great and functionality is great but the chain was wonky and then ending up working. Worth it for the money and definitely recommend for 12 years old and older also you probably will need parent assistance if you're young! I recommend this because this was my son’s birthday gift and he loves it!!

GREAT build GREAT PRICE!!!
AN HONEST VERIFIED REVIEW!! Not gonna take a picture of the box. Read you the description and tell you my 10-year-old put it together in a day. Yes with an adult. These kits are challenging to put together because you have to follow the directions exactly. especially with all the moving parts. I’ve built multiple different STEM brands in my day including LEGO. i stopped buying LEGO STEM kits a while ago because they are way overpriced. Not paying for the name! Sorry LEGO people. NO DIFFERENCE WITH MK! This build was great! 👍🏼 as the build went along I made sure all the moving sections were correct. Step 21 is an important one to follow or it won’t shift correctly and lock up. Make sure it locks like the pic. The part on the right clicks in once the part on the left free floats, it connects a couple steps later. & the chain comes with 48 links. Use 46. This was my first Mold King set and was pleasantly surprised. Just started another one a V8 this time. And I have another one coming. Love, the fact it came with a motor to run it. A lot more satisfying to see everything run when it’s done. No missing pieces. Nice tight fit. A lot of different pieces I’ve never seen before. the bags are numbered. Use the bag with no number on it throughout the build. I think for the money and the quality you can’t beat mold King. Especially for what you get for the price. I also included as a pic of my most important tool I use for all my stem kits. Great for part removal & some tricky install moments. I know you can buy stem kit tools. I have one. But this is my go to. Once again nice build Keep it up Mold King.

You'll learn your level of patience
This is my entry into the world of mould k8ng and nifeliz. The motor works well. They all have some redundant steps, but it's a part of the build process. Enjoy

High quality, slightly pricey, but probably one of the best Mould King engine sets
Mould King is one of the better knock-off versions of Lego. The quality of the bricks and the instructions approaches Lego (ie, 90%). Each new kit seems to come closer and closer to matching Lego, and I can't believe I'm typing that. Interestingly, the price difference is also harder to distinguish than it used to be. It used to be that Mould King was about one-third to one-quarter the price of an equivalent Lego set (for instance, compare the Lamborghini Countach models: MK wass $50~60 while Lego is currently around $180 for about the same number of pieces; MK recently launched a revised version of the same set with a similar number of pieces .. for $90). However, this engine is only about half the price of a Lego set with the same number of pieces. I should note at this point that Lego hasn't really got into the replica internal engine business in the way that Mould King has, so if you're looking for a Lego replica engine you're out of luck. However, at last count there were at least 15 Mould King engine sets of various sizes. I've built 3 of them and have some thoughts: First, why isn't Lego making sets like this? Second, the MK sets break into small scale simple kits that are pistons driven by a motor with some sort of camshaft; small scale kits like this one that have pistons, overhead camshafts and a gearbox; and large scale kits that include much bigger pistons, camshafts that operate valves and usually a gearbox (apart from the large but cheaper in-line 4 which does not have a gearbox). Some of these engines have decorations to make them look like Ferrari (V8), tractor (V12), Bugatti (W16) or Porsche (flat 6) engines. Of these kits, I'd recommend getting one with a gearbox - they're all 4 speed and work very nicely. Beyond that, your choice will depend on what kind of motor you're looking for. This set is a medium scale V12 that claims to have been inspired by a Lamborghini motor. All I know is that it's a great size - just over a foot long, has 12 cylinders, two overhead cams per cylinder bank, and a gearbox. In short, it's complicated enough to be fascinating to build and operate, but small enough to be reasonable to display. They've finally figured out a good way to hide the battery box and motor that powers the kit and there's even a fan belt. The instructions are clear, the bricks are high quality and the finish is good - it's an attractive model in the end. It's a shame you can't see the pistons and camshafts when the motor is running, but it's probably my favorite engine set. Except for the Porsche flat 6, which I might get as well!

A challenging and satisfying build
I just finished building this engine kit and it really works. There’s a transmission with 4 gears and you can put the electric motor that powers it in forward or reverse. I opted to leave the top cover off because I want to be able to see the pistons and cam shafts moving. The quality of the pieces is pretty good. There were no missing pieces, in fact there were extras of most of the small ones. When you build the chain it needs exactly 46 links but there were 47 in the bag, so that’s one thing to watch out for. My biggest complaint is that the axle type pieces are extremely tight once inserted into other pieces. This means you’re in for a world of pain / frustration if and when you have to remove an axle piece to correct a mistake. I have some Lego removal tools that came with other kits but it was difficult even using those. The instructions were easy enough to follow. The only issue I had was step 21 where they specifically tell you to put the red piece that’s part of the gear shifter lever at an angle. Doing this caused the two dark grey pieces to become misaligned and the transmission was locking up. I eventually figured out that having both grey pieces engaged with the gears at once makes it lock up. So the solution would be to put that red piece straight instead of at an angle at that specific step. Overall this is a very cool and challenging kit. It really works and it’s satisfying to complete.

Made my 7 year old cry for 45 minutes
My 7 year old was so excited for this to come in, he waited ALL day looking out the window for Amazon to drop it off. Imagine the incredible, heartbreaking disappointment when he finds one of the pieces missing and he can’t complete the engine he was so excited for. I do not recommend this brand or engine model, it’s junk. Don’t waste your money.
