Best Ever!
When I was a teen, polishing silver was my parents' go-to punishment for me...."You were out too late without calling - get the Hagarty and your grandmother's tea service!" Yesterday, I was staring at that same tea service with its layers of tarnish because I can't stand to polish. I got a slight repreive because I was out of my old product and after reading these great reviews, decided to try Goddards. Just like everyone said, it is fantastic! While polishing silver will never be a night of dancing with Hugh Jackman, the dreaded job went by MUCH more quickly and easily - and with miraculous results. The sponge that comes with it not only applies the product really well, but is remarkably sturdy. It doesn't look like it will disintigrate after a couple of uses. And it just took a pass or two for the really bad tarnish to go away rather than the non-stop elbow grease I had always been used to. It is really satisfying to find a product that not only does what it says, but exceeds my expectations. It is almost just as well mom didn't have this stuff around when I was a teen or I'd have gotten in a lot more trouble!

Love it
This product was recommended to me by the famous jewelry store with the blue boxes & white ribbons. This particular store was using this same product to clean my mesh jewelry (i.e. mesh ring & necklace with multiple, intertwined strands with heart pendant). After the store started to charge for these once complimentary cleanings, I chose to clean my sterling silver pieces myself. I'm absolutely delighted to have followed the "blue box" store's advice because this is the best cleaner I have ever used. The "foam" gets through all crevices of my intricate/mesh & simple design pieces & then rinses clean vs creams, pastes, & lotions which would dry, get stuck in between the mesh, wouldn't clean off the tarnish unless I was able to do the impossible - polish inside the tiny, mesh openings. Not to mention rinsing the pastes, lotions, & creams was impossible. What once would turn out to be a hopeless cleaning/polishing experience for me, is now a joy with the Goddards Silver Polish Foam. It doesn't dry & get stuck inside of your chains. Just use as directed (use a sponge or soft wet cloth), gently rub with minimal effort, & then rinse clean. I don't find the smell offensive at all especially compared to the liquid sterling silver cleaner which starts with a "T" & is in a black bottle. Truly a miracle in a bottle/jar, in my opinion. Definitely worth a try. Highly recommend.

Cleans well
I was having an estate sale and had to clean A LOT of silver. In fact, I cleaned so much silver that I ended up with carpal tunnel syndrome. Let me just say that I hate cleaning silver. Any of the silver I was going to keep is now being sold. I don't want to have to keep polishing something that is already clean every 6 months when it hasn't even been used. At that point your stuff owns you.Having sad all that, this silver polish seems to clean well. Of course you still have to put in the manual labor - but maybe not as much as the silver cleaners I've used in the past. Also, this doesn't have a bad smell. I am very sensitive to smells and can't stand when something smells perfumey or has a lingering scent you can't wash off your hands. This cleaner has some scent - but it's not heavy or too perfumey.

northern lab-goddards 654709 Goddard's Long Shine Silver Foam
It says England but I found that it is made in the USA to that formula in - was it Minnesota?I very much like this product. It does not appear to contain the same silver preservative as Hagerty's but I like the consistency of this because it clings, being a fluffy paste, rather than a liquid or cream.Since 1839 in England, this is claimed to be the very best polish used by professionals restorers and people who maintain valuable historical collections of silver items. It does not mention having any sort of preservative for tarnish prevention such as Hagerty's claims.I like this polish a lot. But I have not tested it to see if there is an advantage to this product over others. It works well, though and I like the consistency to work with because it can cling enough....you can use it "as is" if you need something to get covered with it thicker than a cream or a diluted sponge-full of this would do.Nice stuff...hefty feel to it and it will last and last.nancy morse

Works
Smells awful, but works like a charm. Just moisten the white sponge with hot water , rub it in the paste, work up a foam. Use the foam and sponge to clean you silver item. Then rinse with warm / hot water. Repeat if necessary. NOTE : use with some kind of latex gloves as you may be allergic to either the cleaner or the black tarnish that comes off. NOTE 2 : friend of mine who i let Borrow the paste said he worked up a foam and left it for a while on the silver bracelet and it cleaned even better. I have not done this, but he said he had bad tarnish.

Did a great job on silverware that had been in a drawer ...
Did a great job on silverware that had been in a drawer so long, my husband didn't recognize it. Just a little tricky to figure out water to cleaner ratio. Sponge needs to be on the damp side to work best and warm water. Once water got cold, it didn't clean as easily. Saved me hours of cleaning time with just a polishing cloth. Used the entire jar on 57 pieces and that took a few hours.

I asked two of the greatest silver dealers in New York what polish they used
I asked two of the greatest silver dealers in New York what polish they used, and both indicated Goddard's Foam.. This was very reassuring as I have depended on this superior product for over thirty years. It is simple to use and provides professional results.Using a thumb or index finger in combination with the polish will provide an ever greater swirl-free result. You will not be disappointed. I recommend this to all my friends who admire the polish on my silver items.
