Wow, is this really my first review ever? Yes it is. Like most of us, I've bought dozens of cases over the years for my iPhone (dating back to the old 3G days). I bought this Red/grey Speck case for my new iPhone 8 Plus, it is my 3rd Speck case (I bought 2 others for my 6 +). I firmly believe the Speck case is the BEST case for the iPhone. It touches on all the important design and engineering areas a case (IMO) should have: ruggedness, grip, functionality, appearance. I give it 5 stars in every area. While buzzed (on alcohol) I gesticulated wildly (with my iPhone 6 + in hand, in the case) sending flight to my phone maybe 10 feet on to the concrete. It was unscathed. The case did its job. I've also dropped my iPhone on to the carpet or concrete by accident from 3-4' and the case did its job each time. I swear I am not severely accident prone, i'm just excited about life. But I digress. The case has literally saved my phone many times. Grip: the rubberized grip is very HANDY (oh yea, pun intended people), and the phone feels safe and solid. Size/function: the case is rugged but doesn't feel like a massive brick (like the Otterbox). It's toight like a tiger and hugs the phone like a long lost relative: tight and close. All ports are easily accessible and you can charge through the case (if you have an 8 or X), as long as you don't also have a magnet on the inside of the case. Looks: I love the red. It's not a bright, primary color looking red. It's stealthy and fashionable, not overly masculine or feminine IMO. So yea, it's a great case and 100% worth the money.

I purchased this case in July 2018. I was looking at getting the same case when I get the iphone 11 and realized that I've never had a case last this long and I should probably add a review for it. I have had this case on my iphone 7+ for over a year now. By the time I bought this case I had already gone through a bunch of other cases. It has protected my phone from a lot of drops and there is no damage to my phone. I work in a warehouse and most of the drops were onto concrete floor. The grip on the side makes the phone easier to hold which is why I got the case, I know I have a tendency to drop my phone, but with this case it's not because it's slippery, it's just because that's what I do. The bezel is raised enough that if you lay your phone screen down, the glass is protected from the surface it's laying on, as well as the back bezel protecting the camera. The case itself is still very solid. I just noticed that there are some small cracks in the corners, but it still seems very sturdy. The important part is that there's no damage to my phone. The bezel has split at the bottom just above where the charger plugs in, but it happened very recently and I don't feel like my phone is any less protected. The grip looks dingy at this point, which doesn't bother me. It's partially from a pair of dark wash jeans that rubbed off onto it and stained it, and from dusty hands and from being in pockets and purses.

I've used Speck for years, and I just purchased my 5th or 6th case. I have a iPhone 6s+, and I've added the XS Max. My wife has the 7+, we also have it in a Speck. The cases are always a perfect fit, and durable enough for the price. They are not indestructible, but usually I can get several years of life. Because I travel internationally, I take the phone out to switch the sim card. doing that so often really puts a burden on the case, and it starts failing on the corners and around the soft points, like the button areas. What I really like about the case: the rubberized fins provide excellent grip. It will not come out of my pocket, or slide around on the table. The protection is great. I've dropped my phone, and kicked it across the room, on three continents. I could not be happier with the protection. Of course, I always add the glass protector, too. I love how the buttons are tactile. I can silence the alarm, or the ringer in the dark, or without having to look. I really like that. As long as these guys continue to build this kind of quality, I will continue to buy them!

This is my second speck iPhone 8+ phone cover. The first was all black and lasted 24 months. No problems or complaints with it, I really liked it. The last few months it began to wear heavily and once the piece broke that goes around the charging port I felt it needed replacement. It protected my phone from numerous drops and based off how it held up was the reason I wanted another speck. This new one is the candy shell (red/black) version. It was $15 cheaper then the black one (not sure why). It looks really good, fit on the phone perfectly, showed up just as promised, the grip is great (Wife calls me a dropper so this helps), and works with my wireless charger. Everything I was hopping for. I’ll update as time goes on. So far, I highly recommend for an iPhone 8+.

I originally had decided to try a few different cases for the 7 Plus since I also had a 6S Plus, which included the Speck Presidio Grip and a few other grip based cases and one stylish one. After a short test run, I came back to the Candyshell Grip. It's still the best. The gloss finish looks much nicer than the matte of the Presidio (IMO) and the finish also provides better grip for where your hand makes contact with the case and not the rubber ridges. Also, the change of materials on the Presidio's rubber grips is a downgrade over the Candyshell Grip. The Candyshell Grip has noticeably much more grip. The gloss white also has always hidden scratches and abrasions incredibly well. I've had Candyshell Grip (same white/black color) for my last two iPhones and they all look pretty new still. This case is a universal case, which means it'll also fit on the 6S Plus. That means it does have the headset jack hole on the bottom. This honestly does not bother me on the 7 Plus. Speck tastefully designed that area to be all black. With a matte black iPhone 7 Plus you don't even notice it and it actually looks nice regardless. As an added bonus, the fact that it appears to have a headphone jack makes you less of a theft target since someone might assume you have the 6S Plus and not the 7. I'm personally all for disguising my devices - I don't need you to know what I have (i loathe cases that have cutouts to show the Apple logo). It could just be me, but this case also seems marginally narrower than the 6S Plus version. Regardless, this is still the best case to get. Smart move for Speck keeping it around quietly. Also, for that person who says this is a fake case, it's not. Speck doesn't advertise it on their consumer website, but it is available directly from speck through other retailer channels provided by Speck. I can confirm this is a legitimate case. Besides, even if it wasn't legitimate (which it is), the quality 100% matches my other Speck Candyshell Grip cases. This would be a perfect knockoff an STILL would be worthy of buying.

Quality case with a lot of protection, including corners. The big perk is that with this case on, the phone slips out of my hands far less often. I used to own this style of case and switched to something bigger and more expensive, which was also more slippery and I dropped the phone constantly until it finally broke. Frustrating. Now I’m back to this case. The feel of it is one of the best things about it. The grip is more satisfying than you would think. It’s is very durable, but like any case it won’t last forever. This is a high value buy, and in my opinion the best value of any phone case out there right now.

I purchased this Speck phone case for my iPhone 8 Plus. I have used Speck cases in the past and loved them. This one is no exception. I purchased the light pink with turquoise blue accents and have been using it for a few months now. It lives up to the Speck quality and protection. It is easy to get on/off, but not so much that my phone will come out on its own. In addition to being pretty, the accent-colored grips on the back help keep the phone in hand. The case comes up to cover the lip of the front of the phone and coupled with a basic tempered glass screen protector, I feel like my phone is properly geared up for my eventual mishaps. I have dropped my phone quite a few times with damage only to my own tempered screen protector which is easily replaced. I would definitely recommend this Speck phone case, especially for those who are somewhat accident prone.

Love this Speck Candyshell Grip case for iPhone 7/6s/6 plus. When I first saw this case on Amazon for such a low price, I couldn't believe it. For just under $25 I couldn't pass it up. This black and white version is just the right combination for my jet black iPhone 7. The case is not made specifically for the iPhone 7 however. It will also fit the iPhone 6/6s because the opening for the headphone jack has been elongated to accommodate the second speaker-like grill on the iPhone 7 plus. The camera area is designed specific to the iPhone 7 though. What I love about this Speck case is how much protection it provides and yet it still maintains a slim profile. The hard candy shell body will definitely protect the iPhone from severe damage if it is dropped. This case is built to take a licking. The grippy textured lines enhance your sense of security when handling your expensive iPhone device. It doesn't matter if you lay the phone its back or face down the extra lip around the screen and camera area will prevent unwanted scratches. I also love the tactile button covers. No stiff, hard to press buttons here. They feel and respond just like the phone. The charging port is should prove large enough to accommodate third party chargers. Speck is known for their high quality, durable case. You can't beat getting a brand name case for almost half the price. Get one before they're gone. I will update in a month or so on how it's holding up, but I think this may be my favorite protective case yet.

This is my third Speck case and I will likely not ever buy any other brand. They are strong, durable, attractive and they fit like a glove. I especially like the grip lines as they allow you to hold the phone sturdily in your hands. One downside for the iPhone 8+ is that this case is made to fit a few different models so it’s not exactly perfect on the bottom, but that is definitely not a problem. I would definitely purchase again and I have no hesitation recommending this case to others.
