FANTASTIC! Tuners
I LOVE these tuners. I have them on my new ESP E-II Eclipse and a new Schecter C1-Classic.The ESP came with Gotoh auto locking tuners that are absolute crap imo. They are quirky in operation, and worse than that is that they don't hold tune. Even after a week of using new strings tuning would not stabilize.Even though the ESP is only about a month old I decided to get the Planet Waves locking tuners. I really prefer manual locking tuners as I know the string is locked because I locked it. I have manual locking tuners on my Fender Strat since 1991 and loved manual locking since then. The ESP with the Gotoh's would be out of tune the next day every time. After I installed the PW tuners the ESP now holds tune beautifully. Even if I don't get a chance to play the ESP for 3-4 days, I pick it up and it's in tune. Thank you Planet Waves. Goodbye Gotoh. On the Schecter C1-Classic it comes with really nice non locking Grover tuners. Grover makes excellent tuners and I've always had great experience with them. I was considering Grover locking tuners but the price on the PW's was too good to pass up.They work awesomely on the Schecter just as they do on the ESP.The PW's on the Schecter are gold and chrome on the ESP, and the finish on both sets is beautiful, right up there with even more expensive tuners. Some may not like the all black posts, but I actually like the contrast they give.Customer support from D'addario is great too. They make and distribute the Planet Waves tuners. I had a couple of questions and emailed their support. I got a response back within a day and my answers.Oh, and one more cool feature of these tuners. The excess string gets cut automatically by the PW tuners. It really does work. The first time I tried to use the tuners I bent the strings up 90 degree's like I always do and then I cut them manually.Well, since I bent the strings up only 1 string got cut properly and another got cut mostly, the rest didn't get cut.I was like, WTF? After looking at the cutting mechanism I realized that I need to leave the strings alone. Do NOT bend them, leave them coming straight out from the tuner. That way, as you turn the tuner to tighten the string, the string comes into contact with the cutting mechanism and cuts your strings one at a time. Works great. Feels odd at first as there is more force required to turn the tuner as the string hits the cutter. If you want stable tuning and smooooooth operation, and a high fine tune ratio, then get these tuners.I'm getting another set for my PRS semi hollow. And my '91 American Strat Plus Deluxe needs new tuners. The locking Schallers are a fantastic tuner, but they have gotten old. And that guitar has seen a LOT of use. I'm going back and forth between another set of Schaller's to keep it original, or go with a set of PW's.Not sure yet.Get THESE!

Works great
My husband (guitar player for decades) says they're awesome. "The only way to go." "Makes string changing almost an enjoyable experience." It fit well, the color's black and silver and looks nice. It was easy to install and functions like a dream.

Great replacement tuners for my Taylor!
The media could not be loaded. I recently installed the D'Addario Accessories Auto-Trim Tuning Machines on my Taylor acoustic guitar, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the upgrade. The installation process was surprisingly straightforward, and the tuning machines fit perfectly only needing to drill small holes for the anchor screws. What really impressed me was the auto-trim feature - it cuts off the excess string neatly, saving time and eliminating the need for wire cutters (see video). This not only keeps my guitar looking clean but also makes restringing a breeze. In terms of performance, these locking tuners are incredibly smooth and precise. They hold tuning exceptionally well, even after extended playing sessions. The build quality is solid, and they add a subtle, classy look to my guitar.Overall, I highly recommend the D'Addario Auto-Trim Tuning Machines for anyone looking to upgrade their guitar's tuning stability and convenience.

Work well
I love locking tuners. They're one of the best things you can do for your guitar. Especially if, like me, you have way too many of them and you're really lazy about restringing. With locking tuners, restringing a guitar takes - at most - 10 minutes. If you're trying to go slow.I have Sperzel locking tuners on all my other guitars, but figured I'd give these a try - the auto-trim seemed interesting. To be honest, I don't feel that it's a vital feature. I did see another reviewer say it didn't always work for him, and another reviewer wrote about holding the string a certain way. I didn't do anything special and it just worked. I can see how you might need to bend the string back a bit. But again, as I said, not a big deal. Now, I did have one string pop back out on me while tuning. AFTER being cut. With my other locking tuners, hand-tightening the nut is enough to keep the string in place. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, or maybe these guys just need to be tightened extra-hard. Once again, probably not an actual problem and I was able to get the string back in there and it hasn't popped back out yet, so...One thing about replacing your guitar's tuning pegs with locking tuners - and this is true for the six guitars I've done this on (which were a mix of acoustic, electric and a banjo) and no matter which brand I use. I've never, ever been able to use the original screw holes that the original tuning pegs used. This means you'll be drilling tiny holes in your guitar. I've also never had the good fortune of having the new tuners cover up the original holes, so I've been putting the original screws back in. Looks less silly than having holes in the headstock. Again, this is not specific to these guys, but I thought anyone considering this operation might want to know.UPDATE: I have now used several sets of strings with these tuners, and WITHOUT FAIL one of them eventually flies out while tuning, usually after the thing has cut the excess string off so it's REALLY HARD to get the thing back in there. This is even worse with coated strings. I find that I absolutely cannot manually tighten the nuts, I have to use pliers to give it an extra turn.
