Ace album, shoddy needle drop CD!
Superb prog album but the Ohr CD edition is a needle drop. Whilst the sound is actually good for a needle drop unlike the notorious Fallout/Radioactive reissues, you can still hear the crackles and pops very clearly on this CD. Disappointing.

Surprisingly good, I had never heard of them before but this is a short, albeit brief journey in to the realms of the mind but I have no complaints so enjoy

Dreamy Cosmic Folk Classic From 1972.
Emtidi were a German-based folk duo consisting of Canadian singer/keyboardist Dolly Holmes & German singer/multi-instrumentalist Maik Hirschfeldt.Released in 1972, 'Saat' would be Emtidi's 2nd and final album, following-up 1970's self-titled debut LP (see my review) which was a strictly acoustic affair that was closer in feel to a teutonic Donovan than to the cosmic sound they would employ on this album. After their debut, they were signed by Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser to his cosmic folk label Pilz, where they were paired with legendary producer Dieter Dierks, the result being a mellotron-soaked psychedelic classic that took their initial acoustic folk leanings and added layers of spacey, electronic sounds, giving the album a warm, sun-kissed vibe that reeked of the afterglow of the late '60s hippie movement. The album's two longest tracks, 'Touch The Sun' & 'Die Reise' (both over 10 minutes long) come on like psych/folk freak-outs, as electric & acoustic guitar, bass and mellotron (but no drums) melt together, creating a nutritious cosmic stew, while Dierk's use of phasing lends a swirling, otherworldly feel to proceedings, creating a backdrop that is lush and colourful.Shorter offerings such as 'Walkin' In The Park' & 'Love Time Rain' take the duo's traditional folk blueprint and add electric piano (amongst other sounds), while 'Traume' is a cosmic synth interlude that is almost reminiscent of Klaus Schulze.Anybody who leans towards the cosmic end of the German folk scene, such as Witthuser & Westrupp, will find much to immerse themselves in on this beautiful-sounding, dreamy classic. Try it.
