I used this set to make a police scanner streamer. I use OP25 software to stream 2 P25 police scanner networks to Broadcastify. I did but different antennas that were better tuned, but the included antennas were close enough for initial setup. * Temperature sensors help with frequency offset * Small enough to fit side-by-side (must remove shell) I removed the shells, and cut off the infra-red sensor to put a heatsink on the module. I installed the Pi, radio modules, and antennas into this 3D printed case. I added 2 fans to keep everything cool, was pushing over 80° C (175° F) but with the fans & heatsinks it stays down around 40° C (105° F). This setup does the work of 2 $400 scanners, plus a PC for streaming. All for under $150 and significantly less power consumption.

I bought this kit to build a Stratux ADSB-In device for my vintage PA28. While priced a bit higher than I would have liked, I was pleasantly surprised when I had to contact support months after the Amazon return period had closed. One of the antennas turned out to be defective, so I emailed the vendor, and within a week Tasha had gotten me a replacement antenna to my door. The unit works well now, and despite the SDRs getting quite hot, the Swiss cheese style case I made is able to keep processor temperatures around 60°C without active cooling. I'm happy.

I like how the SDR modules come with calibration information and serial numbers set accordingly. However the antenna labels are seemingly backwards on the kit I received. The longer antenna in each pair for the longer wavelength of 978 MHz are labeled as 1090 MHz and vice versa. The impression you get from the product information is these folks really know their stuff but a fundamental mistake like mislabeling the antennas doesn't inspire confidence (like what else are they overlooking). Would've given five stars if the labels were right because otherwise this is a great kit.

They appear to work well. I've not gone all technical on them yet to see if the + has better tolerance really or if they are properly calibrated (they are sold as being for Stratux). My complaints are as follow: One came with a busted case. Not a big deal I guess as it let me see how to remove the case from the other one. They get VERY hot. That results in making the connectors and USB socket also get VERY hot. Like burn your finger style. So far they seem to work but just am amazed at the heat.The should mount some sort of mini aluminum or copper heat-sync on whatever part is getting so warm. The heat has me worried about them not lasting too long but time will tell. Overall this was the best value I found for stratux. You can get antennas and similar SDR for Stratux but they aren't using the better components that are said to help with drift in temperature swings so my thought is this is the better bundle and wasn't really any more price wise.

If you are looking for a starter set of SDRs (even if not interested in ADS-B) this kit with the Nano 2+ is the way to go. For just over the cost of 2 receivers you get the adapters, cabling, and antennas that are ok in VHF but good in UHF. You cannot go wrong with this.

Didn't fit the board it was presumably made for, so it could not be used.

Works well with Stratux

This is a really good solution for a home made ADS-B receiver. The only minor problem is high power dissipation (and heat) due to the linear voltage regulators, so they need good air circulation.

Micro tuner unit runs a little hot but well ventilated. Used for tracking aircraft via ADSB - does a great job.

Der Empfänger wird bei mir als Stratux verwendet und ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Leistung. Sowohl der Flarm als auch ADS-B Empfang ist sehr zufriedenstellend in Bezug auf Reichweite und Zuverlässigkeit.

I am putting together another Stratux box. It was nice to get the radios already calibrated. The radios do not plug in to the Pi side by side because the cases are a little large. I took the cases off, which probably allows a little better heat dissipation too. I don’t need both sets of antennas, but the kit was a lot cheaper than buying everything individually.
