The iBert safe-T-seat provides families with exactly what they are looking for in a childrens bike seat; comfort, safety, an attractive and innovative design, and a good position where the child can fully explore the scenery. Nestled safely between the adult's arms and behind the protection of the bicycle handlebars, the child can look around and be involved with the ride with mom or dad by turning the padded steering wheel. Center mounted provides a better center of gravity and increased mobility for the adult rider. Better view and more enjoyable ride for the child. The child safely positioned behind the handlebars allows for better communication. Unlike trailers - no dirt, rocks or water thrown in the child's face. Easier, safer loading and unloading of the child. Made in the USA.

Safety Hazard: Critical Components Failed
First, the seat is very cool, and for the little riding we did do, my daughter had a TON of fun. Sadly, we can't use it anymore for the reasons I outline below. I contacted iBert support via their website to ask for an explanation of the design and of these potential failures. After 30 days they have not responded, so I am leaving this general warning to other purchasers here.I just bought this seat a few weeks ago. I installed it without too much trouble, though securing it fully and safely was pretty awkward without additional tools.I have been really bothered by the components. Upon opening the package, some of the hardware was floating loose in the box and a primary mount system washer was missing. Still installable so I went ahead.I made sure to tighten everything appropriately. After two rides, one of the foot cups was loose. Upon investigating it seems that one of the wing-nuts that secures the thing in place had vibrated off, despite being tightened.Next, while riding the security pin in the horizontal seat adjustment system fell right out and my daughter started sliding back and forth with the seat. After managing to stop safely and inspect things, the PIN handle is designed such that for low profile bike designs like mine, the pin can get stuck on the bicycle top tube and be knocked out! After putting the pin back in I had to tape the pin handle up to the seat to prevent this from recurring. Finally, the last thing... and the biggest reason that I can't put my daughter back into this seat... the main chest strap (with Y buckle) was secured underneath the seat by a (I suppose defective) clip, which disappeared while riding. Despite having tested the straps for security before leaving, at the end of a ride I went to get her out of the seat and that strap was limp and just pulled right out from the seat where it should have been secured between her legs. This was on the second ride! Further, especially in low-profile installations, the missing clip is nearly impossible to inspect or adjust. The fact that it just fell off unbeknownst to me while riding is a huge safety hazard. All of these things combined convince me that this is not a seat that I want to trust with my daughters safety.

Not safe! Metal bar that hooks to bike cracked in half!!
We ordered this bike seat in December, and since the weather is starting to warm up, we finally opened it to install. The metal piece that hooks around the bike was completely snapped in half. This was a complete waste of money. I never thought to see that the pieces weren't damaged. It was brand new, and unfortunately, now, I'm past the return window. On a positive note, my daughter is safe. This could have been way worse if this had snapped while she was riding on my husband's or my bike. So glad I was never able to use it.

Awesome!!
Love love love this carrier!! I researched for days and was skeptical at first considering positioning of the carrier which was different from the other front carriers. I was tied between this one and the weecarrier. But reading he reviews, many complained about bumping into the seat while riding or ridin bow legged. With this seat you do not have to ride bow legged at all I'm 5'8" and installed into a 27.5 mountain bike. My daughter is 27 months old 36" and 30lbs. And she still has room to grow in the carrier. I love that I have her right next to me while I'm riding and can sneak in kisses and talk to her about what she's seeing as we ride. You just have to get used to the extra weight in the front but other than that it's secure, easy to install and uncomplicated to remove. I can't say enough, it's awesome!!

So perfect! Very well made.
This thing is perfect! Our 2 year old loves it! It fits really well even on my track back with very little space above the headset. If you have a bike (like a track bike) with very few spacers above the headset and perfectly flat top tube, the d-ring on the locking pin will hang down and hit the top tube. I had to get a small M3 bolt and nyloc nut to replace the d-ring/snap pin. I used a small zip tie and just cut it off after each ride for a few days and that worked too. There isn't any load on that part, just keeps it from sliding front to back or coming off the mounting bar.The mount itself is really simple and sturdy. The tool stores under the lap bar/steering wheel in case you need it. I wouldn't worry at all about my son falling off or breaking the mount. The top review on here shows a broken mount with some porosity in the casting. I can't imagine they still have that problem after making so many of them for this long. I will update this review after I take the mount to the quality lab at work and check it out.The seat is great! It's padded in the center where the kid sits and on their back, but not the sides. This is a good thing because it allows the seat to be so narrow. I have very little clearance between the bars, the stem, the headset, and the top tube, but this thing fits PERFECTLY! There is plenty of clearance for his legs, it's really narrow and doesn't affect my riding position very much. It's wider than my knees are apart, but with a properly sized bike frame my knees are clear of the seat. It's really awesome to have such a low impact on the riding position while having a child on your bike with you! I have a new mountain bike coming this weekend that should fit this setup even better, I'll update this review.Riding with this seat and a 28lb child is absolutely fine. The weight being on and mostly centered over the headset is almost unnoticeable. You can turn almost 90° each way fully unobstructed. The kid can even pull, kick, and play with the handle bars and since they are mounted on the same post, it' doesn't even slightly affect the steering of the bike. You d notice the fact that you are carrying 28 extra pounds with you, but not in an inconvenient way. He can play with the built-in "steering wheel" and he has a blast. Bumps and cracks in the road do not bother my son when in the seat, even on my track bike with 100psi in the tires. The padding does a nice job while not taking up too much room. This thing is super cool, but you really have to be 100% confident on a bike if you want to carry a child on a seat like this. Washing out on gravel in a turn, falling over your bars, hitting a curb wrong and dumping your bike, or even just having to stop unexpectedly and dropping your bike could end very badly for the kid. Even a hard 90° whip of the wheel when hitting a curb wrong could hurt a kid sitting in a seat a foot away from the rotation with no neck support. So, don't buy this if you are even slightly worried you can't handle it.

Not universal
This is NOT universal, it did not fit on mine or my husband's bikes. We are in the process of getting our money back . We have shipped it back a week ago but still have not heard anything from vendor .

Perfect child-carrier! Installs easily with the provided Allen key
Perfect child-carrier! Installs easily with the provided Allen key. Be sure to follow the instructions when installing support on bike, as screws have to be tightened to the same length on both side. Otherwise, seat will be unbalanced and will make steering your bicycle... exciting! My 2y.o. LOVES this seat. She can see in front of her. She "steers" the bicycle with her little wheel. I can easily talk to her, and feel that I could protect her better since she's right there between my arms. Love the leg rests as this make it virtually impossible for her to have her legs caught in the front wheel or the brake cables.Only little annoying thing that is the support for the seat is a safety hazard when the seat is removed. But it can easily be removed if needed.

This seat is awesome! a good size for both of us to be comfortable while biking, and my daughter loves being able to see everything. She usually doesn't want to get out lol. Easy to install and use. I highly recommend.

Great seat!
This seat is an awesome product with a nice simple design. We bought it for our 1 year old daughter and have no regrets. Having her between my arms while I ride is nice because it feels safer and we get to spend quality time interacting instead of having her behind me where I can't see her. The seat position is really stable with her center of gravity below mine. It doesn't throw off my balance and feels much more stable than I expected. The straps are spaced too wide for her little shoulders, but she'll grow into it. The seat is just narrow enough that my knees can straddle it without discomfort, but I'm a tall guy with a larger bike frame so it might fit differently if you are smaller. I'm using it on a hybrid bike with a fairly aggressive riding position so I'm a little worried that she'll be bumping into my chin and chest as she grows, but for now it's not bad. The one design flaw is that if you remove the seat from the mounting bar to go for a ride by yourself, your left with a big spike sticking out of your handlebar stem. If you're not mindful, you run the risk of smashing your knees on it while turning. The manufacture recommends removing it completely when going for a ride by yourself, but this requires tools and is inconvenient. Overall though, it's a great seat for the price despite it's minor flaws. Amazon's regular price seems to be around $150 when it's in stock, but unfortunately they are almost always sold out.
