Steve Madden womens JamisynCombat Boot

I love Steve Madden boots. For the price point they cannot be beat. They are super well-made, leather-lined (hullo!!) and he knows how to style a boot. I have 4 other pair of Madden boots. They hold up for ever. The styling is classic urban combat boot on this one... nice enough to wear dressed up for hip casual events at theaters in my SF Bay Area home town. Comfortable once they are a bit broken in. And here is where I will address the negative reviews: These are lace-up, all leather boots. The are not "perfection" right out of the box because 1) you have to adjust the lacing to suit YOUR foot and leg, and then you can leave them like that thanks to the side zippers, and 2) being as they are all leather, there is a bit of break-in for the leather to soften, relax and shape to your anatomy. For me, this took about 4 wearings. They were NEVER uncomfortable, just needed time to become super comfortable. I read all the reviews before buying and was concerned about size. I have hefty calves and am almost always a 9.5. I ordered both 9.5 and 10 and the 9.5 did feel like it could possibly be a tad short so I kept the 10. The 10 is super -roomy (which I don't mind) and a good fit. But, knowing how these boots "relax" with wear and lacing adjustment (hey, they come laced up TIGHT ... you have to loosen that and get your fit right) I know the 9.5 would have been fine. AND ... for those b***hing about the leather being stiff, the leather softens up beautifully. So ... after meeting up with a friend in a theater who was wearing a $400 pair of combat boots, I wanted to get some with a bit more finesse. I went through a number of other pairs by other makers and ... I love love love these. Great value at this price point. Highly recommend.

Runs way too small I ordered only a half size up from my normal size- narrow too ! -And if I ordered them again, I would probably order 1 1/2 sizes up, because they are narrow ! I have a flat, a little wide foot, but not that wide according to the foot doctor - Very cute boot though!

The boots were shipped quickly and well-wrapped. The leather is in excellent condition and the shoes are well-made. If the boots were sold in a different color, I would buy them also. I wear a 7 1/2, medium width, and the shoes are a bit snug around the ball of my foot area, but the leather stretched some to make them very comfortable. They are a great price for the quality.

Really like the profile of these (less so, the front, which is really round). But they are not great for bunions!

I typically do not write reviews ( poorly starred feedback, I simply would just not purchase from that particular seller again), but I want to warn anyone who is thinking about but this product. I have this exact same boot from Nordstrom Rack in brown (they sold out of the black) and they are comfortable. I am not sure if this vendor just have a batch of poorly made boots by Steve Madden. These are the most uncomfortable boots/foot ware I have ever had on my feet. They are super tight on the sides of the foot. Typically I can run the hair dryer in a shoe to soften them up. But not these boots. It is almost as if there are stitched wrong. Long story short…. Do but them, maybe you might have better luck paying more from Dillards , Macys , etc. hope this review helps someone

I was skeptical about purchasing these boots. However I was so pleasantly surprised. I wore them out the day I received them, right out of the box. Honestly they were a little snug and tight but the longer I wore them the more the loosen up. The are 100% leather and has that awesome leather fragrance. I wear a 7 to 71/2. I purchased a 71/2. The fit as expected. Just know you will have to break them in at first, the more you wear them the better they will fit your foot. I really considered purchasing the brown one as well. They do have great support as far as having a little height in the sole of the shoe. Being 5'3 I need all the height I can get. They are not heavy and hard to walk in. My feet did not hurt at all after walking down town all night and standing in a club for hours. It was a successful trail run. Buy these boots. They will not disappoint you. Just remember you need to break them in.

I love the style of these boots, but I can't believe this is real leather. It feels and looks very cheap. I agree with other comments that these run narrow. I bought 1/2 a size up and they fit. If they are actual leather, they should expand to fit my foot nicely after some breaking in. I'm keeping them and I really like them, but very very disappointed in the "leather". If it is leather, it's the thinnest cheapest leather they could find.

Good quality and looks super cute

I bought these back in September. They're not my everyday shoes but I wear them a few times a week and they were my favorite pair of boots. I don't know what happened to the quality of Steve Madden but I've never had a pair of their shoes get this wrecked so fast. I'm so disappointed, I loved these boots but the sole is torn and cracked on both shoes and in more than one spot. I wouldn't have bought these if I wasn't going to get a year out of them. I can get no-brand shoes that will last this long but I expected better from this brand. I'm pretty sad about these ones.
