I have several beach condos and I bought these to protect the pillows. They are the best quality of any I have bought. They are smooth, completely quiet, and waterproof. They wash beautifully and hold up. They don't breath, or breath so slowly it's the same as not breathable. So like anything completely waterproof, they will balloon up when you lay on it. To avoid that, buy them a little big like Queen for Standard. This gives the air somewhere to go, but you will have that extra material. Or deflate your pillow a little when zipping, this helps. Or you can leave the zipper a little unzipped. The zipper is not on the end, it's about an inch or so down, so it cups the end of the pillow to prevent the pillow from sliding out. It also has a flap the is behind the zipper, so if water goes in through the zipper there is a layer behind. This is better than other styles if you want to leave the zipper unzipped a little to breathe. The con is the zipper pull can be on the side of the pillow your face is on, half way down if you've unzipped it half way. But you can flip the pillow over in that case. I also bought fancy Nanotec pillowcases "waterproof" & breathable. Spent a fortune on those. I tested then and yes the water beaded up. But after one wash that went away, or when you rubbed the beaded water it soaked through. I didn't notice that until later. So not waterproof for practical use as a pillow. But they do protect the pillow from bed bugs etc, and they breathe. So I use those first, heck couldn't return them, then these on top partially unzipped. That is the best way I've found so far (Dec 2015) to protect the pillows, keep everything fresh no matter the treatment the pillow may get.

Great quality (no snags/tears, zipper issues, etc.), quiet, waterproof, odor-proof. This review is for: Guardmax - Bedbug Proof/Waterproof Pillow Protector - Zippered Style - Set of 2 - Quiet! - Standard Size (20"x26") sold by Right Choice Bedding, through Amazon Prime. I'm not sure what product people received who have had a bad experience with these things, but reading over them I decided to leave my own. I actually liked them so much I have one for every pillow in my house (it's a lot of pillows...) and am now about to order one for my dog's bed, because he's always getting it stinky and I'm having to wash it every week. First off (this may be TMI), I originally bought this pillow protector for a pillow I use to support my infant while I breastfeed. Occasionally breast milk would get on the pillow, or he'd spit up curdled milk (which sometimes smells like actual rotten milk), or a diaper would leak, etc. so I'd have to wash the pillow itself. I have enough laundry to do without having to worry about pillows, so this seemed like a great idea. It has definitely done its job. Now, my two year old can get pretty sweaty or drooly (stinkyness!) when he sleeps and before he was potty trained he'd have an occasional leak, which would get on his pillows from the way he likes to snuggle with them. Good thing I had extra protectors! These things are really great I haven't had to wash a pillow in a very long time. They are definitely water-proof, and I just now poured some water on one and took a picture of it so you can see for yourself. They are also quiet, sometimes I forget the pillows are protected at all, they're no different than the average pillow case. I have not had any problems with any of the zippers -- and I've used them several times for zipping and they've also withstood my washer/dryer. I'd say the best thing about them, is that they are somehow odor-proof. Like I stated earlier, my little one would spit up nasty milk and no idea how this would happen, but when I was able to get back to the pillow to wash the case, I couldn't find the spot he spit up on because there was no smell or visual spot left behind. I actually rarely wash the protectors, but do wash the pillow cases I put over them every week with all the other bedding. I'd say if you purchase this and have an opposite experience, contact the seller for an exchange, or if you have Prime, just return it for a refund or exchange as you probably got something defective.

Great fit and soft feel.

After studying reviews of dozens of these type of covers I settled on this brand. They are being used on the back pillow on a recliner for an elderly person. They are perfect for when there are "accidents". I have used them for the past 2 months and I'm very happy with them. -They are huge. I bought the king size and our pillows are overfilled. They were plenty big with no strain at all on the zipper. Which is a thin nylon cheap one. -They are not waterproof but are fairly water resistent. I use 2 over each pillow with a pillow case over that. Usually I only have to wash the pillowcase and 1 cover. But in case that isn't enough I still have another cover to protect the expensive pillow. They wash and dry beautifully with the regular laundry and I have not noticed any decrease in water resistance. -They have a soft exterior so that if the pillowcase slips off a little they still feel fine. - After reading all the reviews for other brands that are reasonably priced, it appears that none of them are really waterproof. So I am taking off only 1 star because they claim these are but they are water resistant which works for me.

Good quality and easy to use.

I've had these pillow protectors for almost a year and they are PHENOMENAL. I have 5 dogs and that's why I wanted durable cases. My dogs are allowed on beds and furniture and I was tired of pillow cases slipping off the pillows. Let me tell you, these cases aren't going anywhere! The zipper design is genius and works like a charm. And waterproof??? You bet! These cases have had drinks, dust, dirt, dog hair, and the occasional puppy dribble on them and the pillows inside stay looking BRAND NEW. I actually just tossed my cases into the wash today and it got me thinking I need to buy a few more, leading me to my purchases where I thought I should share my experience in case anyone is on the fence. They protect, they're soft enough to sleep comfortably on, and they wash up flawlessly. 4 for this price is a great deal and so worth it to protect your pillows and get more life out of them!!

The look and feel/quality of it is worth the money, i've had no issues with moisture or staining or wrinkling!

Excellent! Because the pillow covers are waterproof, I was somewhat sceptical, wondering about a possible crinkling noise but as other reviewers have stated, they don’t make any sound whatsoever. One wouldn’t know they’re there. The queen size also fits very well and is loose enough over a queen size pillow to enable it to remain fluffy, unlike my prior pillow protectors which the pillows always seemed to be squished within. Very high quality, in fact better than expected.

I just started using these waterproof protectors because my grandson suffers from nosebleeds. They are soft and don't feel like plastic. They are very practical and a good product.
