diana ross live in concert
huge diana ross fan, however the picture and sound quality of the disk is lacking. the distributor must have copied the concert from a tape at home, very unprofessional. but its diana so i endured it.

Maybe not what you expected, but I liked it!!!
As you can see, many people have left very negative reviews for this item based mainly on the fact that they did not get what they were expecting. True, the cover is misleading. However, that does not mean that the package is a total bust. I LOVE this DVD. The concert is taken from a performance recorded for HBO at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace, during Ross' "The Boss" tour in 1979. Now, just to warn you, this performance has not exactly been brought up to today's viewing standards. By that I mean, you are seeing and hearing the concert pretty much the same way people saw and heard it on their television sets back in 1979. The color has not been tampered with (HD-wise) nor has the sound been changed. However, if all you are looking for (like me) is rare footage of Diana Ross performing live on stage during her hey-day, then all of this probably won't matter to you. Lets face it, how many Diana Ross concert DVD's besides this are there? True the color may not be perfect, however, it is still in color, you can see it, and you can hear it. Therefore, I have no complaints whatsoever. I'm just happy to have it, and to be able to enjoy the undeniable magic that is Diana Ross.

Diana Ross Live in Concert (is really the Diana Ross Live in Las Vagas) CD
I quite enjoy Diana Ross and do enjoy this concert, I did have it in the Beta format and it was of a much better quality then this "remake". I am disappointed that the company that put this DVD out and that the person that sold it did not take the time to advertise correctlyas the Las Vagas concert, because that is what it is. The dark coloured CD out there with the words "Diana Ross" across the front is advertised correctly (as the Vegas concert) and ships from Asia, namely Korea. What confused me with this CD was that it said and a "special guest appearance by Marvin Gaye" well Diana walked over to his table said hello and he sang maybe two lines of Reach Out and Touch, he did the same thing at the Vegas concert. All in all by today's standards the quality of this DVD is very poor and it looks like something a fan in the audience would take. Both the sound and picture quality are of a very low grade and if you are a fan of today's standards and don't want nostalgia of yesteryear, then I don't recommend you waste your money buying this item.

Diana Ross " Live In Concert" should read "Live From Las Vegas"
Again, I gave this 5 stars as it was her best concert at a time when she was 'on top of her game' in 1979. This should have been titled Diana Ross "Live From Las Vegas" instead of Diana Ross "Live In Concert" as it is the same concert. The newly packaged dvd's with more updated pictures of her on the cover are deceiving as they would make one believe they were different and more recent. If you do not bother to read the playlist of songs included as I did not - you could end up with 3 of the same dvd as I did. I bought the original one about 10 yrs. ago. My mistake but buyer beware -she was only in Las Vegas in Concert one time in 1979.

Diana Ross is the Boss/Please Sue this company!!!!
As you have already read from other reviewers, this is a 30 year old concert, which not to say is one of Miss Ross best concert's, but she has done a lot more concerts since then, this is just a re-mastered copy of the other dvd of this same concert only with a picture of Diana on it, this copy is not as good quality like the black cover copy with just her name on it called DIANA ROSS IN CONCERT, so fan's of this Grand Diva don't waste your money on this copy, look for the copy with just her name on the cover, its a better looking and sound quality, I know Miss Ross would be mad as hell if she knew they put out such a poor quality dvd on her, I have all or most of Diana Ross concerts, and they look better then this new one, I really hate the people who do this to stars, they are just fooling the public with a new cover, I think someone from Motown should do something about this!!!, Motown would not let this out!, Motown only does quality work expecally with Miss Ross, I hope someone at Motown see's this and stop this company from selling of this verson and Motown should put out there other concerts Miss Ross has done in her 45 year career, this is by HUDSON/STREET DOWNTOWN ENTERTAINMENT INC, PO. BOX 111, PRINCE STATION, NEW YORK CITY 10012, Lets write them and tell them to upgrade this dvd with better sound and look, and if you are planning on putting out any more dvds on Miss Ross or other entertainers, make sure you have SOME DIANA ROSS FANs PRESENT, I love Diana Ross to death, but I have to give this re-master copy one star, Miss Ross wouldn't let this dvd come out!!!! , We need better quality dvds of Miss Ross!!!If any Diana Ross Fans agree let get this done, write me at [...], I'm not FAT, ITS MY DOG'S NAME!!!(smile) MISS ROSS I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! Diana Ross At Her Las Vegas Peak!!
I agree that the quality of this DVD is not up to high definition standards, but the quality is no worse than the original VHS version, which I also own and still play. So for me to have this concert on DVD gets the 5 star rating alone. When I play it on my portable DVD player and use my MP3 earbuds, the sound is amazing! And you can't beat the price. Maybe one day we'll see a remastered crystal clear version, but, for me, this will suffice. Plus "The Boss" is one of my favorite Diana Ross releases and this show is loaded with songs from that album.

Deceptive Cover
I loved the DVD and enjoyed watching this era that had some of Miss Ross' best work. However, this is her Live in Las Vegas show and exactly what I had purchased on Cd. I will keep the DVD, I just don't appreciate being deceived. I don't have any of the complaints other reviewers have about the quality of the product, but I probably would have made a different choice for variety.
