Genuine Dodge RAM Rear View Back Up Camera New OEM Mopar, (56038978AL)

This is a drop in replacement for the original. Camera quality is crisp and clear, a true plug and play. Very happy with this, hope it lasts a few years (original made it 4 years).A few things to note if you’ve never done the install before:Drop the tail gate down. Use a T25 hexagonal screw driver to unscrew the back plate (8 screws) on the tail gate (don’t remove the plastic cover on top, you can’t get access that way).It’s a tight squeeze but if you have a small socket wrench, use a hexagonal T15 bit to unscrew the 2 screw holding the unit in place.It helps if you have a magnetic bit to hold the screw or a wand to get the screw once you drop it...Once the 2 screws are out, pull the plug, swap camera units, screw it down and replace everything.All in all this is about 10 mins.

I am a not-so-mechanically-inclined woman, and this was very easy to put in. The hardest part was getting the small screws out of the old part because the angle is a little difficult. But once the new part was in and the cable was plugged back in (there is a green line on the cable and the part to make sure it's lined up correctly), it worked like a charm. No more blurry backup camera - now it's crystal clear!!

Installed this camera on a 2014 Ram Laramie, replacing the original. Simple installation and everything works perfectly. After removing the access plate on the tailgate, I found it easier to remove the two 8 millimeter nuts holding the tailgate handle on and take the handle out to remove the 2 t-15 torx screws mounting the camera. Now the only thing that is different is the picture is crisp and clear. Two thumbs up on this replacement

Easy install and replacement for my 2014 Ram 1500. Quality looks great and easy to install myself. Took about 15 minutes.

Awesome! Perfect replacement for my 2014 Ram 1500 camera. Picture quality is great! Guidelines curve when turning like they are supposed to and the field of view is exactly the same.I had purchased 2 other less expensive cameras from eBay previous to this one trying to save some money. That was a mistake. The cameras on eBay were the same Mopar brand and same exact part# as this one, however they were not the same camera. When the sun was shining, the image was so washed out and bright it made green grass look like snow and was unusable in the daytime on both cameras I tried. Not to mention the guides weren’t the same, nor was the field of view.This camera is the real deal!

My camera started to get blurry so I bought a after market camera to replace it at first. After installing it I realize it didn’t work properly with my truck settings. Like the turn grid don’t move when you turn the wheel. I returned it and bought this one and it works absolutely great! Don’t go cheap get the right part the first time.
