What I like about this pill grinder is that it works exactly as described. I don't feel like I bought junk. It is sturdy, easy to use and easy to clean. My tip is: set it on a flat surface when using. Holding it on one hand and turning the handle with another does not work as well as a flat surface. Good price point for a good item.

My pup has to take several pills a day for various reasons and the "peanut butter trick" was wearing thin :)I checked with the vet to see which pills could be crushed & which ones couldn't and bought this grinder. The biggest pill I have to get into him is a little smaller than a dime. All of the others are much smaller. The grinder worked very well, grinding them into a fine powder. The only issue I've encountered was when a pill got a little wet, or the grinder wasn't completely dry, and the grinder got gummed up. I've seen some reviews saying the grinder cannot grind big pills, which I can understand. Although I can't find it now, I thought the directions said it was adjustable.

I have severe Gastroparesis, and I’m unable to drink liquids or take medications without throwing them back up. As a result of this, I have to take my medications through my GJ feeding tube. This pill grinder is my second one, and so far I’m loving it. It is very easy to use, and I love the fact the handle folds up for easier storage. I also like how each section secures on with a twist, as with my past pill grinder I lost some medications when it knocked over and the lid on it (held on with just friction) came undone and my meds spilled out. One feature I like, is how the handle can be folded up under the screw on cap, so you don’t have to take the cap off all the way.As for that cap, though, that is where I have to take off one star. I’ve had it get tightened up against the handle, and I had to use some pliers to loosen it. This won’t happen, though, if you make sure the handle is in the right position on the shaft, and not get in a hurry. That, is what happened to me the few times it did occur.Overall, this is very easy to use, and I recommend it.

I must say, that as of the time of this review. I have 8 days left of a 6 weeks of having my mouth wired shut. I had to get a pill crusher, that you screw down to the bottom and it crushes the pills. It worked but not that good. So I decided to try something else. This one here works great, its quick and so much easier and pretty much does a find powder. I think the coating on some of the pills doesn't break all the way down and looks like little flakes. But its alot better than the other one I had.

I would love to give this grinder a 5 star rating but, it is the best I have found. My reason for not rating it highly is that after 3 or 4 months the rivet in the handle breaks and it is no longer usable. I have just bought my 3rd one hoping it will last longer. I have actually rigged up a screw with locking nuts to hold it in place after the rivet breaks which works great but not as good as the original. I have no idea why they have that bend and fold place in the handle which is where all the stress is but it is the first thing to go when the rest is perfectly good. I hope to see an improved handle system in the future, I don't want to have to start shopping for a new kind, I have tried many in the past and non grind up the pills as well.

Grinders excel over the typical crusher, including the hospital type that typically require a little plastic envelope in which to crush pills, and are mounted to a counter top or table. This grinder has been tried by me in two other forms and is the best among them. Other grinders of this design ultimately failed because of unsubstantial plastic parts that ultimately became rounded during use, and made the entire grinder useless. Another type has the same ceramic grinder. But it failed when it became unattached to its plastic housing. I suppose I could repair that one with epoxy, but it had the additional disadvantage of replacing the previously failed plastic with a huge unwieldy handle and knob. This grinder is, so far, outstanding and without those flaws and weaknesses. In fact, the handle folds to become more compact. It is not a compact grinder, however, because it is quite tall. This would probably be an issue for travel and storage, though. Also, over time the plastic inserts within a metal housing that "click" together (one for the receptacle of the grind, and one for the top) may become worn and no long click together, This may become a greater problem for the receptacle because finely ground powder is poured out of it right over the indentations that allow it to click to the grinder above. If the metal had been on the inside at this part of the receptacle, with the plastic on the outside, the inside would be completely smooth, and no dusty grind would get caught in the plastic retention piece. However, it can be rinse (and dried!!) and so far, this device is going strong, long after the others had failed. And for the price, cannot be beat.

It’s truly amazing. The pills are ground up to a fine fine powder that I could never achieve in the little hand held plastic grinder I had before. Besides I can grind 13 pills all at once. For larger pills like multi vitamin you do have to break them into a couple of smaller pieces first but still. It’s so much easier and effective than anything I’ve owned before. A friend suggested I get a battery operated pill crusher but i like the fact that I don’t need batteries. This was cost effective and it works amazingly well.
