After much research, I picked this one. Read below if you want to hear why
Update 6/11/21: I have to buy another one, because my ex insisted on keeping it. I got the cat and he got the toaster, if that tells you anything. It still worked great, and was good enough to fight over custody of it for 2 days. Have a great toaster hunt! I still recommend this one. After literally days of reveiw research on dozens of toasters trying to find the best one, because lets face it-we all go in to get a quick 20$ toaster and decide after the reveiws to spend a little more on one that won't catch fire or burn/unevenly toast your stuff, I decided on this one. Youre probably here doing research of your own, because apparebtly toasters are wildly unpredictable, and difficult to just find the "best one" easily. I remember complaining to my sister that "Apparently all toasters suck and dont work well" and I couldnt find very many above 4 stars. I thought the more expensive they got, the better quality and therefore better functionality, but I was seeing the same mixed reveiws as the cheap ones.So all that being said, this one I think I like. It is shiny and a little reflective, so while I toast my bagel in the morning I can bend down and contemplate my disheveled morning appearance in quiet resignation. The bagel setting works well, and I havent had any issues in uneven toasting with anything. I have no idea about fancy artisan bread, which was one of the most common questions I had seen among all the toaster Q&A. I usually (just kidding, I mean always) just make cinnamon raisin toast and bagels. The toaster itself seems sturdy enough, I know a question people have is if it feels flimsy or not. I dont think it does, but then again Ive never really felt like a toaster was poorly made. Either Ive been lucky and always gotten decent toasters, or I just have cheap taste and my standards are low. I have no idea. It feels like it'll work well as a toaster, maybe not as a softball, so I guess its sturdy? I would like to note that the cord goes into the toaster near the front, which is kind of odd since usually you plug in toasters in the back, but it doesnt matter too much, because the cord is long enough to be normal even with that, and theres a groove on the bottom of the toaster for the cord to run under it without problems. There is a crumb collection tray that is removable, but it pulls out from the back too, which is a second weird thing. Its not that big of a deal, but Im used to them being in the front for convenience. I think the sides are supposed to be "cool touch", and they are.One last thing, Ive seen a lot of reveiws mentioning a "toxic plastic burning smell". In case you didnt know this yet, that is SO common. Literally every cooking appliance I have ever owned has done that on the first run. I got an instant pot for Christmas, it did it, our new oven and microwave did it, both toaster ovens Ive ever had did that, this toaster did that, its totally normal. Im not sure what the specific cause is, but my mom always told me it was the coating they put on it in the warehouse burning off. I have no idea if thats actually why, but that smell is expected, and a lot of appliances tell you in the manual to expect that, and to let it heat up/do its thing once before actually using it to get that out of the way. Its like washing your new clothes before wearing them, you dont know what the warehouse did to them, so get them clean (or in this case hot) to get rid of all the nasty.I think Ive covered everything. Best of luck on your own toaster journey, and should you settle on this one or a different one, I hope it always makes perfect toast and never catches on fire, and lasts for generations to come. I hope your great great grandchildren bicker over who is the most worthy of receiving this heirloom toaster that has been passed down throughout the generations.

It lasted 31 months then died.
It is less than average. Toasters should last more than 2 1/2 yrs.

Would Not Recommend
This toaster makes a nice appearance however I would not recommend it. It doesn't toast evenly, the setting dial is difficult to read, and it is difficult to extract slices of toast that are a little smaller than standard. I will probably keep it for a year or so and then purchase a different toaster.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
#1- The toaster does not eject the toast when done- It will go up a small amount and stop- you have to raise the front bar all the way to get toast and turn off - Because of this if you don't pay immediate attention the toast burns and fills a kitchen with smoke and sound the smoke alarm #2- If a piece of bread would fall down to the bottom and or just scraping for the bread - there is no way to ge to the bottom, it is not made to come out- you have to break the piece with a knife and shake upside down to remove anything. We are getting something else!

Good not great
It’s a little inconsistent. Sometimes burns a little even if it didn’t the previous time on the same setting

The toaster is very easy to use and convenient
I always wanted to buy a toaster because the whole wheat bread itself is not very tasty. However, after going through the toaster and then coated with jam, the bread tastes way better than before. The toaster is very easy to use and convenient.
