Q: I already have a light fixture. I’m looking for just a cover. Is this a fixture or a shade?

I had a similar problem, but when shopping around I found that a replacement dome costs almost as much as a light fixture. So I just bought this to replace the whole light fixture. That way you get a new fixture, and you can be sure the dome it comes with fits properly. Installing a light fixture is a little bit of work, but it’s easier than installing plugs or switches. Make sure whoever does the install knows how to use wire nuts properly and connects the ground wire. It’s not difficult, but needs to be done properly for safety reasons.
