Tumi Alpha Bravo Pinckney Flap Brief, Anthracite, One Size

The Tumi Pinckney Flap is an acquired taste. I searched for a soft brief case with a lot of pockets for a long time and most have too few pockets, are too ridged or are just too small to carry my laptop, cords, ipad, headphones, files. mouse, book, etc. What is really nice is that this bag can be unzipped down the middle and expanded to be wider when I need to carry more stuff. So far it looks, great, can carry what I need for commuting and is built to take a beating. The cost is another story but in this case you get what you pay for.

Like the other reviews say, this bag is ridiculously expensive. But after owning it for nearly a year, I can say it was worth every penny. Over the last few years, I'd gone through four or five other (cheaper) bags and was never really happy. And then eventually, something would break -- normally the shoulder strap. But this bag looks exactly like it did on the first day I bought it -- no signs at all of wear and tear. It's the perfect size and weight for me and has a spot for everything I need to carry. If you can get past the price, I highly recommend it.

Yes, Tumi bags are very expensive! But beyond the pretty face you do get a really great bag with a very thoughtful designthat really addresses all your needs from a bag like this.Everything about this bag shouts expensive, from the price tag to the materials to the construction down to the packaging,they just don't spare a thing.I took it with me my last trip overseas and managed to fit everything but the kitchen sink in it:I had my 15" laptop, Drobo mini unit, Airport Extreme, Time Capsule, 3x2.5" drives, ton of cablesand computer accessories.It was close to 30 pounds but the airline didn't even give a second thought as it looked so pretty carrying this stuffthey probably figured there's just a laptop there and never thought they could charge me for the extra weight.This bag is great for travel and have all the features you'd think about but it also great for a day to day operation.I've noticed it really makes an impression with clients! This is very important and could prove very useful acquiringnew clients (if you're on location technician or IT consultant). I know it did the trick for me at least once, so I alreadygot my money back.It's true you can get good bags from competing companies in this space for a lot cheaper. In my opinion, most of them will not be as good and definitely won't look as good in action. I had similar bags from every leading company and I was never as impressed. I still own 2 similar bags (Samsonite & Timbuk2) that are now picking up dust.The only reason I give this bag 4 stars is that price tag. It's definitely not for everyone and I'm sure you could be satisfiedwith other bags out there, but if beautiful design and great engineering is important to you, this bag is for you. I will buymore of their products for all the reasons mentioned above.

Superb quality, well organized, the big disadvantage is everything inside is black and it's hard to decipher compartments from each other. The edges of the compartments is labeled or marked with a forgetting color to identify the compartments would made a world of difference

I love this brief! Between my fiancé and myself we own 7 Tumi products. They do cost a little bit more than some other brands; however, the quality and design are well worth the price. We are American expats living in Europe and we travel almost every week. We bring our Tumi bags everywhere and they look just as good as the day we got them. We joke that we have become Tumi snobs and we will definitely be purchasing more. I think its an addiction at this point.As far as this bag goes, it holds much more than I expected. I use this brief when I don't want to use my larger Alpha 15" expandable brief in black. I think this Alpha Bravo Pinckney Flap Brief is the perfect size for both hand luggage on a plane or just going back and forth to work everyday. It fits my 14" Vaio laptop well along with an iPad, iPhone 6+, headphones, chargers, notebook, and other travel documents such as tickets and passport without even using the expanding zipper. The only thing is that it fits so much stuff it gets heavy despite its compact appearance. Of course that is not the fault of the bag, I just pack too much stuff. A 15.6" laptop would probably fit but would be a little tight. I really like the amount of pockets this bag has for organization. There are pockets everywhere and I am OCD about organization so this bag fits me well. I especially like the zippered pocket on the front of the flap. It works great for my passport. The hidden pocket just above it is a great spot to put my phone and tickets when going through security checkpoints at the airport and when I don't want all that bulk in my pockets on the plane or at the gate.In addition, the Anthracite (Grey) color is great! It can be professional and casual depending what you wear it with. I have used it when dressed in a suit and when traveling in jeans. It isn't out of place with either. It seems to match everything. The only concern I had was that the zippers seemed a little course when compared to my other Tumi products. However, after using the zippers several times, they became much smoother.I can't say enough good things about this bag. I love it! I highly recommend it.

I travel a lot for work so I took my time finding a replacement for my old Coach messenger style bag. I knew that I wanted something that had style but it had to have functionality as well. This bag meets all of my needs. Lots of pockets, plenty of room, not too large, stylish, and durable.

This has to be one of the best bags that Tumi has made in a long time. Its very sturdy, stylish, and intuitive design.

Quality, look, material, great bag.It has a zipper on the bottom that if opened will expand the bag, in case you need to store more stuff!It realy is a well made bag, as expected from TUMI!Gave it 4 stars because the "laptop" area is a normal sleeve without mayor protection, and I'm a little over carring of my computer and really clumpsy, but the bag is great!
