A very impressive webcam at a decent price.
Before I go into the actual review of this webcam, let me just explain what I use the cams for. This is the third webcam that I've bought, with the first two being logitech C170 and C270 cameras. I use these webcams attached to a Raspberry Pi for use with my 3d Prusa printer. The problem with my two previous webcams is that their focusing is fixed and set for 40cms and beyond. Unfortunately, this means that when remotely viewing my printer, the print is slightly out of focus as it is closer than the 40cms.Now I bought the C270 for just over £20 and didn't want to spend £70 to upgrade up the Logitech line so I decided to start looking at other makes. There's a number of the more well known manufacturers selling webcams, but to upgrade from the C270 you have to pay a fair bit, so I noticed that there are a number of "similar" looking webcams available which were 1080p instead of the C270s 720p and at the £35 price point. It's not much of a gamble seeing as Amazon have their excellent 30 day return policy. On getting the webcam, there is definitely no need for that return policy!! I'm very impressed with the quality of the footage coming from the webcam and the fact that you can use the metal focus ring to fine tune the footage is great. The camera is plug and play so setting up the camera is a breeze. The attached cable is of a decent length, so I've been able to route the cable out of view and it has an integrated ferrite ring, so there is no interference on the signal from the webcam.I've attached photos of the box and webcam for a better view of the product. Both of my logitech webcams are now stored away and I can't see me getting them out for a long time. I recommend this webcam to anyone considering a purchase! If you found this review helpful, can you please help me by clicking on the helpful button. Thanks

Good & Bad
Got my new webcam today, I am happy with the product good quality. Only thing I am not happy about is the delivery box it came in, it was not sealed at the top or bottom, I was lucky the product didn't fall out on route. I don't normally like taking a star away in reviews, but this package problem really bugged me.

Great on Linux
I'm very happy with this webcam. It works right out of the box with Linux (I'm on kernel 5.0.5) and shows up as 0c45:6366 Microdia. Four devices appear /dev/video0 to /dev/video3 and different programs will work with one of those, depending on what data they expect to see. For example, Skype for Linux works flawlessly with video3, handling the H264 stream with no issues, where Cheese will take raw frames from video0 for a less smooth (around 15fps at full resolution) video. The webcam settings can be adjusted using V4L tools.I have used this webcam in low-light settings for chatting and streaming and it gives a clear picture. The colour balance does have to be manually tweaked if, like me, you have a yellowish tint from artificial light. There is no such issue during the day. I also use this webcam on a swing arm as a budget document camera and it performs really well here. The manual focus ring is perfect for this use and it will focus well down to around 5cm.

Colour balance is wrong. Apparently I'm green...
Good camera in terms of picture quality, but the colour balance is just so wrong. I think it's an over zealous picture correction or night adjustment feature that is built in which means that you will not get the true colour out of this camera.

Does the job well
I needed a web-cam, to doing camming with. It is very small, excellent built in stand especially has it has the famous 1/4 inch tripod screw, so a brilliant fits snug to a tripod. The manual focussing lens is useful, but no indication as to the points of focus, and not described in the only just acceptable mini. instruction book - when will the Chinese wake up that you need a good senisble instructions book the make the customer happy! To make it work took me two solid hours, NO! It does not just plug in and you get the camera image, you need a piece of software (one they do recommend) to make it all work. Its huge saving grace that once you can get it started - your computer screen show an excellent easy-to-slide etc., set up the picture quality, size, etc. For the price it is good value (I'm using Microsoft 10) and over time hoping it will be excellent.

Not compatible with skype in windows 10
The Amazon web page is misleading in that it claims that the camera is compatible with Skype and Widows 10. Yes it works with Microsoft Camera in Windows 10. No it does not work with Skype in Widows 10. It may possibly work with Skype in Windows 7 but not Windows 10. It will have to go back.

Half the price of a c920 but all the quality and a bit more
Out of the box the picture quality has a greenish tint to it(in the individual pic) but with a quick adjustment to the settings, it is 99% of the way to looking like a c920(as seen in the side by side pic. The C920 is on the right, and this camera is on the left).A feature that this camera has over the c920 is that the head is mounted on a ball which gives it more flexibility to get the perfect angleSomething that I like is the camera has a manual focus ring that is SUPER smooth and nice to do micro adjustments on. There's a notch on the the inside of the lens assembly so you know where the perfect point is all the time. The microphone is also quite good. Not excellent because after all it is just two holes on the front of the camera but it is very usable and clear. An odd comment I have is the cable is possibly *too* long. It might have been better to have a half length cable and include an extension.Overall I'm very impressed! I'd give it an overall 9/10
