Basically good, but infected with unwanted, irremovable apps!
Okay, so I've completely edited this review, after it turns out that HDMI does work ... unless you disable the "TV" app! - I don't use my TV for watching regular television, and to avoid even accidentally using it, I disabled the TV app, but it turns out that doing so also disables HDMI viewing, so I thought it was just broken. In short, HDMI started working when I reenabled the app! Like most TVs these days, this one is infected with immovable apps and suggestions for things I don't want, but can't turn off. For example, I have uninstalled most of the streaming apps that come pre-installed, but some, such as ITVX and Channel4 player can only be "disabled." Despite doing so, those two apps in particular still appear prominently in the apps menu, filling about half the screen (see picture), the home menu is full of "suggestions" of programmes/content to watch from these two channels (and others), and the apps list on several menus include all of the apps that I have disabled! It's infuriating, that even a previously trusted name like Sony (one I have always trusted to give me the best products that work the way I want to use them), have succumbed to this trait of installing and "recommending" stuff that I don't want and will never use! The rest of it is okay, although sound quality was a bit poor, and seemed a little "tinny" to me (but take that with a pinch of salt as I am pretty tone deaf!). The only other problem is that there's basically no way to stop it showing random, scenic, pictures as a screen saver, you can't set a "blank screen" saver, or simple animations, it forces upon you random, bright pictures - another blunder from Sony there, IMHO. A bit of research led me to find developer mode which has an option to keep the screen on (effectively disabling the screensaver), but most people wouldn't want to fool around with that! Setup would be easy if the instructions had even brief written explanations to accompany the pictures .... I eventually worked out that I didn't have to screw the stand in, the screws were just for adjusting the height, and really it was just a case of turning it upside down and sliding in the legs; no screwing required! Only basic functions (on/off, volume) work with Alexa+ and despite the "control with smart speaker" app telling me I can say "Alexa, launch Netflix on tv," Alexa just responds with "Netflix isn't supported on this device!" - however I haven't tried this with basic Alexa, and I'm pretty sure this is an Alexa+ problem as I had many issues with my previous tv and other devices when I switched to Alexa+

Issue with internet wireless connection youtube
Tv picture is great, tv is intuitive to use. The sound isn’t bad but I have added a sound bar. I like the fact when you go to use an app you can scan the QR code on the screen and the log in / account will be transferred to the tv without having to remember passwords etc. The reason I have given it 3 stars is the fact YouTube keeps buffering. This is despite me following all actions suggested by on line support eg updating firmware, ignoring network and putting in password again etc etc. Amazon prime app also buffers but not as much as YouTube. It’s definitely an issue with the tv as my older Samsung never buffers in the same room. The Bravia tv actually shows excellent internet signal even when it buffers. The YouTube app on my Amazon stick in the same tv doesn’t buffer. The only way I resolved the problem was to hardwire the tv to my router. Fortunately due to furniture layout and rug layout I am able to hide the cat 8 cable from my tv to the router. If you can’t do this and use YouTube often I would consider not buying this tv. I have since read this is sometimes a problem with this tv.

Beware of overcomplicated settings!!!!
Straight out of the box this tv was a nightmare. It had been set to retail settings and was difficult for the average person to adjust. The sound settings were also off and lip synch was out and near hand impossible to correct. Very dissatisfied.
