excellent resource
Excellent resource that covers the material specifically as claimed. Teaches in a conversational and enjoyable to read style. Takes someone who is not an electrical engineer through the necessary basics of electrical process specifically as it applies to motorcycle systems. Just enough theory for required understanding without extraneous complicated equations. It does cover with significant detail all material needed to allow the motorcycle owner to become fully versed with how electricity travels through the motorcycle. It clearly describes how to troubleshoot problems and then fix them. It includes lots of large, helpful diagrams and photos. After reading this book I have a profound confidence that the mystery of wiring diagrams and unseen electrical gremlins can be discovered, understood and fixed using this book and some inexpensive and readily available tools and materials. Great book by a talented author. I will look for other books he has written because I know I will likely enjoy those as well.

Great for someone just learning
I have not completely read it but, from the position of knowing nothing about electrical systems. This is a good book. It starts at a basic level and goes from there.

For the not so electrical genius
Whilst I do understand the basics of electrical circuits, it was refreshing to get a look at the electrical system pertaining to a motorcycle. I especially enjoyed the section on finding the electrical fault/problem, as all to often, because of a lack of knowledge, assumptions are made about the device/parts rather than a sound troubleshoot of the system. This book demonstrates a basic guide in the matter and how to use you VOMM multimeter to locate the problem. Other interesting insights are the components and the way the interact with the other components. Helpful for the none electrically inclined and great for the home handyman/mechanic.You will not become an electrical engineer after reading this book, but you will have a far better understand of how and why your bike is powered from battery to alternator.Highly recommended...

Motorcycle Electrical Systems: Troubleshooting and Repair
This book is great! I am building a motorcycle from the ground up with limited amount of off the shelf chopper parts, so I needed a book that could teach me the ins and outs of how a motorcycle electrical system works and this book delivers. I never did any electrical work on my motorcycle before but now i have the confidence to work it out. The author builds upon concepts through each chapter in a logical manner. Explains how to use a voltmeter and other testing tools. The price of this book could save you hundreds of dollars spent on parts when often it is a bad connection that is causing the problem. The author describes various ways to check systems and pin point problems. Get this book if you want to know motorcycle electrical systems.

Stop googling. Just get this book and get to work.
I really enjoyed reading this book. If you have some wiring work to do, and you don't know where to begin, begin here. While getting frustrated looking for free information online, I kept running into ads for this book. Clever internet jockey that you are, you will surely be able to find this information for free if you spend a week or so searching. This book saves your time and aggregates the improtant info for you into one place. It is well worth the modest fee, and it is good to support the old school hands-on masters like the gentleman who wrote this book for you.

Great book, useful for all bikes, old and new alike.
I worked as an Electronic Technician for 3.5 years, I received professional training in electronics, but this book takes a look at areas I was not trained in: high power, low voltage circuits, and how to troubleshoot them. It not only gives a great introduction to electricity, and some electronics, but it provides the hands-on knowledge, techniques, and tools, to troubleshoot, and repair virtually any bike, any year. The author even instructs the reader on how to make some needed tools, for very little money, along with discussions on tools you will want to purchase (no need to buy expensive tools!). Very impressed, all around. Cheers!

simplified and genuinely helpful
Firstly, it must be pointed out that this book is generic and should be used alongside your workshop manual. However, it comprehensively takes you around motorbike circuitry, with the aid of diagrams, making it a most understandable book on motorcycle electrical systems and really useful if you are engaged on a bike re-build. Personally, the electrical system is something that I have always been nervous about tackling, but this book makes the idea seem possible and a workable option. It advises on tools and equipment and how to use them, covers all aspects of electrical systems including electronic fuel injection and has a section for troubleshooting electrical faults. Simple diagrams and good photography, makes this well produced book a good addition to the workshop manual: recommended.
