ARE YOU EATING IT... OR IS IT EATING YOU? The Stuff is the new dessert taking supermarket shelves by storm. It's delicious, low in calories and better still doesn't stain the family carpet... What's not to like? Well, for a start, it has a life of its own, and we're not talking friendly live bacteria... Young Jason seems to be the only one who doesn't love The Stuff - in fact, he won't go anywhere near it, after having seen the pudding crawling around the fridge one night. What's more, everyone who eats The Stuff has started acting really weird... Now, teaming up with wise-cracking industrial saboteur Mo, Jason must put a stop to The Stuff and the organization behind it or face a gooey, gloopy demise. Coming courtesy of horror auteur Larry Cohen (director of the It's Alive series and scribe behind the Maniac Cop trilogy), The Stuff is a titillating treat for the tastebuds which blends elements of films such as Street Trash with the straight-up B-movie flavor of The Blob. So grab a spoon and dig on into The Stuff - the taste that delivers... much more than you bargained for! Review: You can never get enough of the Stuff! - Such a classic and looks so good in 4K, great bonus content too. Review: The stuff 4k - 4k transfer is amazing. Arrow nailed it

Enough is never enough!
Let me start by saying that "The Stuff" (1985) is a cinematic masterpiece. No, really, it is! A masterpiece of utterly bonkers, deliciously dated, and surprisingly prescient B-movie schlock that will leave you both entertained and questioning every decision you've ever made involving a spoon and a carton of ice cream. The premise is simple: A mysterious white, fluffy, delicious, and addictive substance bubbles up from the ground and takes the world by storm. It's zero-calorie, fills you up, and tastes like... well, like "The Stuff." Everyone loves it! They can't get enough! Except, you know, it's also eating them from the inside out and turning them into gooey, zombie-like husks. Minor detail. The genius of this film lies in its complete and utter commitment to its own absurdity. We've got corporate greed, a former FBI agent named Mo (because of course), a kid who hates "The Stuff" because it moves in his fridge (a completely reasonable reaction, if you ask me), and a marketing campaign so aggressively catchy it makes "Got Milk?" look like a shy whisper. The "Stuff" jingle will burrow into your brain and set up a permanent residence, right next to your paranoia about dairy products. Honestly, the special effects are a character unto themselves. Remember that scene where the Stuff just... expands? It's like watching a giant, malevolent marshmallow have an existential crisis. And don't even get me started on the Stuff Monster at the end. It's glorious. It's terrible. It's everything you want from a monster made of sentient dessert. If you're looking for deep philosophical insights or a cohesive plot, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to witness a film that perfectly encapsulates the glorious chaos of 80s horror-comedy, then grab some popcorn (NOT "The Stuff," for the love of all that is holy), dim the lights, and prepare to be utterly bewildered and thoroughly amused. Just don't be surprised if, after watching, you find yourself eyeing your yogurt with extreme suspicion. You've been warned.

This is The Stuff!
"The Stuff" is one of my favorite 80's films. It's also one of my favorites from cult director Larry Cohen. Good cast, thrills, and laughs. A dessert becomes a sensation across the country. A food investigator/spy (Michael Moriarty) wants to find out what's inside the treat by other food companies so they can replicate it. Meanwhile, a boy (Scott Bloom) gets up in the middle of the night and finds The Stuff moving in his fridge. The investigator, his girlfriend (a former ad creator for The Stuff), and the boy all team up to figure out what is going on. The cast also includes Garrett Morris, Paul Sorvino, and Danny Aiello. A commentary on society, culture, and consumerism. "The Stuff" Arrow Video 4k has terrific extras including featurettes but the blu-ray disc is the real addition with a pre-release version with extra footage and some different music. This is a terrific package for fans of the movie. Are you eating it or is it eating you?

Movie is OK at best
Story is definitely something unique. Special effects are ok. Image is great in some instances. The green screen effects make this movie extremely outdated. 7/10
