The Women's Essential Rain Jacket is a stylish, lightweight piece featuring Gore-Tex with Paclite Technology—making it waterproof, windproof, breathable, and extremely packable. The hydrophobic Gore-Tex membrane contains over 9 billion pores per square inch to reduce internal moisture, and the Paclite layer regulates temperature while keeping weight to a bare minimum. The Essential jacket also features fully taped seams to prevent leaks, Velcro cuffs that can be cinched to keep out the cold, zippered hand pockets for storing small items, and an attached hood that adjusts for better facial coverage. If interior heat should begin to build up, simply open the Pitzips—zippered ventilation openings under the arms—to increase air flow.

I love the length - but the most notable: the incredible lightness.
I love this jacket! I bought it after lots of research as it was one of the few good quality jackets with a nice long length. This is crucial when you’re hiking or doing other activities as you don’t need to worry about baring your lower back to the elements when bending over, etcetera. This is particularly important, especially for someone as tall as me (5’11”).Colour? Gorgeous. I got the blue. It’s very different in different lights, varying from ink navy in the dark to a stunning blue and deep royal blue.Size? I’m usually a size 14-16 AU or 10-12US. I tried the large in in store and while it fit, there wouldn’t have been much room for layers. So I ordered the XL. Perfect. Plenty of roominess, which I prefer. Especially plenty of room in the sleeves for movement, even in the slimmer large. This is notable to me, as I often find that if an article of clothing is going to be too small, it will be in the arms.Quality? I’ve worn goretex jackets before and so know if their quality. This jacket is no exception. The water droplets just slide right off, even in an absolute downpour. The absolute best part of the jacket - so incredibly light and packable. I seriously didn’t believe it when it arrived. It weighs nothing. My parents want to update their hiking jackets to jackets that are similarly light. It’s wonderful. The only thing I don’t like? No interior pockets. So far hasn’t been a major issue, but I did used to use them a lot in my previous jacket. So we’ll see.Oh and I’m from Australia, where Amazon does not ship to. Ugggh. Sucks. I had to use a middle man to get the jacket to me, which cost an additional $80.Overall? Buy it. It’s a worthy investment.

I'm Glad I Purchased
First off, the jacket runs small, and is fitted quite tight to the body. There will be women that even the extra large will be too small. The red raspberry color is beautiful and has pink (fuchsia) undertones so that my Hunter tall womens rain boots will work in either a red or fuchsia color. I have both, and I like both with this jacket.I already have a Marmot rain jacket I bought about twenty years ago, and I still wear it as it has no tears and still works well. This Marmot jacket is rain proof and wind proof, as is the new jacket I bought. There are many rain jackets on the market that purport to be rain proof, but they are not. This is.I like to wear this jacket in warmer weather as it is so lightweight and does not add heft or much warmth. I do not get too hot with this jacket in storms in the summertime. I also like to tie this jacket around my waist to use the pockets while I walk my dog for bags and car keys, especially when I have summer dress on and have no pockets. Even in warmer weather, it's like having hardly anything around my waist and is practical, and not too hot. In the evening, I sometimes pull this jacket around my shoulders and this prevents the bugs from biting me...they cannot bite through the Gor-tex. Since I've received this jacket, about a month ago, I've used it nearly every day, not always for rain.

Well made and beautiful raincoat
Really nice and well made rain coat. The size is as expected. I normally wear small/medium, so I got a small and still had room to wear a t-shirt and warm sweater underneath. I wore this in Iceland where it can be quite rainy and windy.

Love this Marmot rain jacket
Bought it for a trip to Ireland, but we've had enough rain here that I have been testing it. Love the longer length in the back, the fact that it slips over any sweater I am wearing, etc. The velcro closings are a plus/minus. They are handy, but don't hold tightly - they should probably be a little bigger for that. Since I don't wear fuzzy gloves, the ones in the pockets don't bother me and I think they will be useful. Best of all, the rain just rolls off and the hood stays put!

Pretty much the perfect rain shell
I was on the hunt for a rain shell and had several specific criteria: 1) long (if you're in the pouring rain, what good does a coat do if it only covers the too half of you? Wet butt, no thanks!). This is definitely long to cover your bootie. 2) waterproof- obviously. I haven't tried this in rain yet, but it's Gore Tex, so I'm confident this has that covered. 3) lightweight and packs up small- this is so lightweight it feels like air. It rolls up pretty small. Like one other reviewer said, I got mine at a steak by getting a used Amazon Warehouse deal on it and the tags were still attached. Definitely like new and paid a fraction of full price. I got black which wasn't my first pick but for the price I can't go wrong. I'm 150lbs and 5'6" and the medium definitely fit and looked the nicest. However if I squat down, it kinda cut me across the hips and there wasn't a whole lot of room for layering. A large didn't cut me across the hips when I squat and I could put a fleece underneath and not feel constricted in the least. It wasn't as flattering of a look, but if I'm in a downpour, I want to be dry, not a model. Plus when you're soaked I hate the feeling on having tight clothes in addition, so large is the winner. It doesn't have the look of being "too big" either if you know what I mean. It still looks nice and looks like it fits - just with a little more wiggle room. Overall I'd definitely say this fits the bill. I'm looking forward to being dry in the rain and hope this lasts for most of my life!

These are tailored, and are not a cold weather coat, unless you can get warm items underneath.
This is a really classy item well made and tailored to fit waist and chest. Length depends on your height. Not made for bulky attire beneath it, unless one is very slim.Definitely waterproof, and it breathes.I chose navy and my daughter chose black, they are very stylish.I purchased mine on sale, but had to get our daughters at regular price and it was still a good buy.I am short and muscular, so got XL.

Buen producto
Excelente para lluvias ligeras y no más de 30min de exposición, ya que después de ese tiempo o con lluvias intensas, se empieza a filtrar el agua !!

Great Fit
I love everything about this jacket: the fact that it is lightweight but I can layer underneath it; it's waterproof; it's long enough to cover my bottom; it fits well including the hood. And the dark raspberry colour is perfect!

This is decently priced, high-quality lightweight waterproof. The fit and feel is nice. I particularly like the fact that it is long enough to cover your bum which is what you want when hiking - so many of the good-quality jackets on the market are cut short - which is useful when you are wearing a harness but not ideal the rest (i.e. most) of the time.
