iRobot Roomba® 405 Combo + AutoWash Dock Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop Function

I was interested in getting this having seen a few of them around. Unboxing is easy and the app is stable. I've had it for over a month now and luckily not experienced the dreaded battery problems other people have mentioned. It cleans my carpets and wooden floors really well, and is smart at avoiding falling down the stairs. Overall it's a great time saver and encourages me to keep the floor empty.

Arrived Broken The vacuum works flawlessly, unfortunately the dock didn't work. The Robot couldn't make it up the ramp to the dock. When placed on the dock, it didn't empty the bin. The mop function never worked because the dock couldn't prepare the mop pads for mopping. Amazon support was OK, not great given it was a £300 purchase and didn't work from day one. Worth checking who the seller is - I got it on a lightning deal and assumed I was buying from Amazon, I wasn't.

Sadly after just 9 days, the roomba developed a glitch, and after 48 hours of trying various suggestions from technical online we couldn't get the roomba to charge, As the charge hit 0 %, it wouldn't connect to the Internet. As a last resort, the technical online suggested checking the battery, but I couldn't find a battery access flap or hatch. We have arranged for a swift amazon return and will try with a replacement roomba. Despite the battery issue, we were overall impressed. And I still recommend it for its easy setup. In the hands of my 60 year old mum, who I challenged to set it up on her own from scratch, she found the only help she needed was lifting out of the box and putting it in the corner where it would go. The robot is the heaviest element. She downloaded the app and set up the programme completely alone and she said she found it easy and straight foward, as the programme set up has many clearly explained steps, and guides you step by step, to aid the set up. She was impressed with the programme, which is very sophisticated and detailed but actually incredibly easy to understand and use. The robot sounds like you would expect a modern hoover to sound as it is a hoover after all. You wouldn't want it in your bedroom as you're trying to sleep if you're a light sleeper, but it could clean downstairs as you sleep. The joy of watching Roomba do its thing as you have a cuppa is strangly satisfying. Users tip - once the robot has run round mapping your house with its radar, the programme offers you help to rename, split and merge, and add spaces. My tip is, split, break up spaces more, you can still tell it to clean every where, but by spliting areas, you can tell it to just do specific areas, and it will go through the house and just do a chosen areas. By splitting bigger areas, you can push furniture up one end to deep clean the other end of a room. The programme constantly communicates audible and through the app, it's progress and how it might need help to proceed. The dirt detection technology is real. It found the dog feeding floor area and the path from the back door to the dog bowl, and really went to town on it. One big issue, though, is that the roomba audibly issues progress statements or promts and help requests, which, unless you're next to it at the time, you don't fully hear it. It would be helpful if it pinged a notification and the message to the phone app.

Temporarily placed outside the door for the holidays, she doesn't have any major problems locating her. Of course, I have to remember to position the door as in the photo and adjust everything possible in the house to allow her entry. Moving the coffee table a few centimeters was enough. She crawled under the chairs and then came out on her own.

My home has never looked cleaner! It’s noisier than I thought it would be, but does an amazing job at hoovering and mopping. Some very tight spaces or corners are difficult for it, but this is expected with a robot cleaner!

Vacuum function isn’t too great, fine for hard floors but no good on carpets. Mop function is decent though. The biggest issue for me is that i have to clear the floor fully before using it. The AI doesn’t seem to pick up my dogs water bowl for example, often makes more of a mess knocking that over then it cleans.

If you’re on the fence with one of these, please don’t hesitate, we’ve had Rowland for about a week now and he hoovers daily and mops every other day, and does a great job, Is it as good as vacuuming yourself with a plug in, probably not, but because he goes daily there’s very little left behind, The main thing we have found is we are keeping on top of picking toys up, putting shoes away etc so the rowland can get to where he needs to go without swallowing anything, so in that regard the house has never been tidier! All in all we are very pleased and you shouldn’t hesitate.

Worked great for a month, then battery started to need recharging more frequently, after 2 months couldn't leave the docking station without going into low power mode! It's a know fault apparently... as if that helps! Complained to Amazon, they don't care because it was after 30 days. Ongoing complaint with iRobot (who just went bust!), won't help until I provide a specific invoice from the seller. Have contacted the seller through Amazon for a copy of the invoice. And who is the seller that's not sending an invoice... iRobot Offial Store! ... course it is! Useless product, Useless company and a complete waste of £400, don't buy this product, it will break and you won't get your money back.

También puedes darle órdenes con la voz usando Alexa o Google. 5. Casi no tienes que hacer nada El depósito de polvo se vacía solo Las mopas se lavan y secan solas. La base también rellena el agua limpia. ⚠️ Lo no tan bueno No tiene depósito de agua dentro: solo moja las mopas cuando vuelve a la base. Si tu casa es grande, puede que no limpie todo con la misma humedad. Es algo caro para lo que se podía esperar. 🗣️ ¿Para quién es ideal? Para personas que quieren olvidarse de barrer y fregar durante semanas. Ideal para casas medianas o grandes, con suelos duros (baldosas, madera, vinilo). No tan recomendable si necesitas mucho control del fregado o tienes muchas alfombras. Da algun error, cuando la envías a limpiar, a veces se vuelve sin hacerlo. Y aunque pongas la app en español, habla en inglés.

De Roomba 405 is een van de nieuwste robotstofzuigers van iRobot en mikt op een compleet automatische schoonmaakervaring. Een van de grootste pluspunten vind ik de LiDAR-technologie. De stofzuiger maakt tijdens de eerste rit een nauwkeurige kaart van de woning in. Via de app kun je zones instellen en verboden gebieden aangeven waar hij niet mag komen. De ervaring met de app verliep niet geheel vlekkeloos. De kaartversie wordt niet altijd direct goed weergegeven. Ook duurde het bij mij even voordat de kaart volledig en correct was aangemaakt. Daarnaast had ik incidenteel last van verbindingsproblemen met het WiFi-netwerk, waardoor het apparaat soms niet direct reageerde. Hoewel het geen dealbreaker is, voelt het wel jammer voor zo’n geavanceerd apparaat. Hopelijk wordt dat met toekomstige updates verbeterd. Wat erg goed werkt, is de opvangbak. In plaats van de stofzuiger zelf elke dag te legen, wordt het vuil gecomprimeerd, waardoor je pas na meerdere schoonmaakrondes hoeft te legen. In de praktijk scheelt dat echt gedoe. Na elke ronde keert de Roomba terug naar het dock, waar niet alleen het stof automatisch wordt afgevoerd, maar ook de dweil wordt gereinigd en bijgevuld. De stofzuiger is een aanrader voor iedereen die houdt van gemak, een schoon huis en er niet te veel naar om wil kijken.

j'ai acheté cet aspirateur robot Roomba pour notre maison de 100m² et il a littéralement changé mon quotidien. C'est l'investissement parfait pour garder une maison propre sans y passer ses week-ends. Il est redoutable sur les poussières, les miettes et surtout les poils d'animaux qui ont tendance à s'accumuler. Le système de brosses retient bien les saletés et il passe sans problème des sols durs aux tapis. Il se repère très bien dans l'espace, il se parametre seul dans sont environnement. Il contourne les meubles, passe sous les lits et les canapés là où on ne va jamais avec un aspirateur classique, et il gère parfaitement les obstacles et les vides (pas de risque de chute dans les escaliers). L'application sur smartphone est ultra-intuitive. On peut programmer le nettoyage à distance pendant qu'on est au travail, suivre son parcours ou vérifier l'état des filtres. L'autonomie est largement suffisante pour faire tout le logement en une fois. Dès qu'il a fini sa session ou que sa batterie est faible, il retourne s'amarrer tout seul sur sa base de recharge comme un grand. Bref, la maison est impeccable tous les jours, même avec des enfants ou des animaux. Je recommande à 100 % !"

Premessa, ho ordinato questo robot a causa del fine vita del mio fedelissimo Roomba i3, quindi provengo dalla vecchia app iRobot. Voglio scrivere una recensione dettagliata, avendo letto tante recensioni critiche che mi avevano fatto dubitare dell'acquisto. Nella recensione farò riferimento a due diversi dispositivi, un Samsung Galaxy A34 e un Lenovo tab M11. In casa siamo due adulti e due gatti a pelo corto. Appena arrivato, ho apprezzato l'estetica di questo robot: ho preso la versione bianca, e devo dire che si integra bene nell'ambiente. Per prima cosa, con lo smartphone l'ho collegato al Wifi con la nuova app, nessun problema, è andato benissimo e il processo è stato relativamente veloce. Ha fatto un brevissimo aggiornamento e in pochi minuti era pronto per creare la mappa. Nota sul wifi: io l'ho collegato ad un extender che avevo acquistato per il suo predecessore, dove si connette esclusivamente il robot, su una rete a 2,4GHz. Successivamente, in app, ho impostato la lingua su italiano, così da avere i messaggi del robot nella mia lingua. Prima mappatura: è stato un lavoro rapidissimo e preciso. Solo, non ho pensato a tirare su le tende (io ho tutte porte finestra, quindi le tende sono tutte lunghe che sfiorano terra), quindi -giustamente- le ha interpretate come muri, non arrivando a pulire oltre la tenda. Rifarò la mappa, appena posso. Modifica della mappa: qui ho preferito installare l'app anche sul tablet, per poter gestire meglio la mappa su uno schermo più grande. Appena fatto l'accesso al mio account sull'app, ho trovato la mappa pronta per essere modificata, senza problemi, in pochi secondi. Ho diviso, unito, rinominato stanze, poi ho impostato una "keep out zone" per evitare eventuali disastri dove ho l'albero di Natale (comunque in mappatura e aspirazione, senza keep out zone, non ha fatto alcun disastro, quindi è più una precauzione per il lavaggio). Prendetevi tutto il tempo necessario per la modifica della mappa, sconsiglio infatti modifiche successive se non indispensabili (vedi dopo, su "Programmazione"). Aspirazione: precisa, efficace, sbatte un po' solo su alcuni ostacoli neri, ma senza urtare violentemente, e la seconda volta che ci passa sembra già rallentare fino ad appoggiarsi all'ostacolo per pulirgli intorno. Mediamente, comunque, non ha sbattuto da nessun'altra parte. Lavaggio: per timore del calcare, visto come si riduce il cristallo della doccia, ho inserito acqua demineralizzata (quella del ferro da stiro). Ha lavato tutto benissimo, secondo l'ordine che gli ho indicato. Non ha lasciato aloni sui marmi scuri, cosa che temevo molto. Ho impostato la frequenza di lavaggio panno durante il lavoro su media, e l'asciugatura del panno su 6 ore. Programmazione: ho impostato 6 programmi in app, secondo le mie esigenze, alcuni di sola aspirazione e altri di aspirazione dappertutto + lavaggio solo in alcune stanze e di aspirazione + lavaggio di tutto, anche qui zero problemi. Attenzione solo a una cosa, se dopo aver creato i programmi andate a modificare la mappa, ad esempio unendo delle stanze, i programmi che coinvolgono quelle stanze verranno eliminati o modificati, quindi se avrete bisogno di modificare la mappa successivamente alla creazione dei programmi, questi saranno da rifare. Rumorosità: fa un po' di rumore quando svuota il serbatoio della polvere nel sacchetto, alla base, ma è un processo che dura pochissimo. Io l'ho posizionato in un angolo dell'ingresso, lontano dalle camere, quindi lo sentiamo pochissimo. Anche il lavaggio panni fa un po' di rumore, ma nulla di particolarmente disturbante. Io che provengo dal Roomba i3, trovo questo robot molto più silenzioso durante la pulizia. L'asciugatura del panno invece è solo un lievissimo ronzio che non darebbe fastidio nemmeno di notte. In generale, sono davvero molto soddisfatta di questo robot, e il fatto che venga fornito con sacchetto e due panni di ricambio è stato molto apprezzato.
