We've had this up for about 2 months and are happy with it. The night vision works great. It has lots of settings so if the motion detection is to sensitive or you want it to record longer you can change all that. We put a SD card in it so it would save recordings and it works great. It swivels around and up and down easily in the app. It's never not stayed on no matter how cloudy or snowy it's gotten. The Bluetooth works great, never not connected. Easy to setup and navigate the app. Very happy with our purchase on this one! Going to grab another one soon!

I just purchased the Cooau C5 - I did some looking around at a bunch or makes and models. This one had what I was looking for. I wasn't familiar with the brand so I did some comparing and on paper = Looks very good. Also - Thank everyone who posted a review - That was a big factor. So I figured I would try it. It only took 2 days to arrive. I usually don't get excited about orders, but this, I was looking forward too. I opened it right away and already was impressed. The packaging was great. The could have drop kicked it off the truck - and I don't think it would have affected the camera. Installation was a snap = literally only 2 screws. I downloaded the app - Very straight forward with the steps exactly as shown - Everything connected easily - Wifi, camera, login and syncing the camera was all of 15 min and straight forward - no Youtubing to figure it out. After everything was set - I put up the camera - again only 2 screws and was up and running in 30 min. Now I get to play - Visual were pretty good - Better than I anticipated. However - I wasn't impressed and the motion detection didn't seem to work. So I started to go int specs, adjustments, re boot the router and didn't seem to change. I thought maybe it's placed too high - It's 10' off the ground - so I climbed the step latter to take it down and BINGO - I my haste I pulled a rookie mistake. I forgot to pull off the protective film covering the lens. As happy as I was - It was user error. I was even more amazed at how nice the picture was with the film on - but with it off - Absolutely amazing - very clear - even zooming in at 25-30 feet was great.It's been up for 3 days now and I am very satisfied with this product. I will keep you posted after some tweaking time. Now to top that - there Customer Service is top notch - I sent in the warranty about 2am EST - I had a reply within a couple hours, Cooao had listed in the ad to email them for a Thanksgiving special. So I did - again, the replied right away - Not just a thank you customer email, But a personable, freindly, We appreciate your patronage and are here for what questions or needs that might come up. I felt like family. A rare quality now a days. I may even add them to my Christmas card list. Hmmmm. Seriously - An excellent camera - Does exactly what I needed and want it to do. GREAT Camrea - GREAT Customer Service - GREAT to be a Happy Customer. I hope this helps if you are considering the C5 Camera.

This is a great security camera. Picture quality is great, day and night. And there are way fewer false positives than with a major-brand camera I tried before this one, and returned. Battery life is forever it appears - the solar panel, even in a fairly shaded area, keeps the battery fully charged always. I don't think I'll ever have to charge it manually. And customer service is fantastic - before I bought the camera, I wrote to the seller and told them I had to place it in a shady area, and wondered if the solar panel would provide enough power. They quickly wrote back and offered to send an extension solar panel for free, so I could place the panel it in a sunnier location. It arrived quickly (from China!), and I put it in a better location than the camera was in, but still not great, and it has worked phenomenally. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that on my wifi connection, it only gets about 70% strength, so there is a few second lag when viewing the recorded videos back. This is probably due to my wifi though, not the camera.

HD quality video is pristine, solar panel charges the camera well enough to get through the night, very responsive on motion detection and yet very few false alarms, CloudEdge App can show multiple cameras at once, battery charge indicator helps as well, intercom feature is perfect to talk to UPS and FedEx employees for deliveries, night vision is spot on, no issues with glares, can control sensitivity to motion if needed. Great camera for the price, cannot beat it.

I purchased two of these wireless solar security cameras for video security at a rental property. I am impressed with the quality of the camera and its IP66 rating. Be aware this camera only operates on 2.5GHZ WIFI band. This is not uncommon for wireless cameras and it actually increases the distance you can place the camera from the router. The Quick Start Guide is pretty good but you will have to read it carefully as a couple of the steps are a bit quirky. The setup using the downloaded app was not difficult but be aware that if you choose to use a micro SD memory card to store data you must insert the card first before turning the camera on for initial setup. Plug the camera charging cable which is provided in to a USB2 or USB3 adapter (not provided) and turn it on to start the setup through the mobile app. You are limited to 128GB maximum cards and I would recommend purchasing a new, well known brand name ( Sandisk, Samsung, PNY etc.) to save yourself from potential incompatibility issues. They are relatively inexpensive. The camera will ask for permission to format the new SD card for FAT32 during the initial setup. Agree and let it do its thing. Because the C5 camera has an attached fixed angle solar charging panel, placement is important to be sure you get enough light to keep the onboard battery charged as well as getting the optimal viewing area for your needs. Placement is also critical for getting adequate WIFI signal from your router. COOAU recommends at least 85% WIFI signal strength to the camera and you can get a pretty good idea of what signal strength you are getting at the camera within the mobile app. The camera had to be moved around the area a few times to find the sweet spot with consistent 4 to 5 bar signal level for my application. Take your time with this step because sometimes repositioning the device just a few feet in any direction can drastically change the WIFI signal strength If you have many devices sharing the WIFI signal on your network or if your router is far from the camera location you may want to consider a separate dedicated router or WIFI booster placed closer to your camera(s). Newer Low E glass windows and doors have a coating which can interfere with WIFI and cellular signal to any WIFI device or cell phone so keep that in mind as well when figuring out your camera location to get the optimal connectivity. There is a learning curve to using the mobile app to control the camera and view files. It's not the most intuitive app and there will be some trial and error when setting up your alert and notification parameters. Not a great deal of detail in the User Guide for how to use the app but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to use. Although I have not needed to contact customer support for assistance the manufacturer says they will respond quickly to inquiries and requests for tech help. The basic mobile app has free six second video clips and an alert notification is sent when you have motion detection set up. There are optional cloud video storage and advanced video and alert packages available and the cost seems reasonable if that's the route you choose to go. The battery life is exceptional so far and the new generation solar charging panel works very well to keep the battery charged even on cloudy days. The 2K camera resolution is very good even at night. There are multiple adjustable sensitivity levels which may need some tweeking to get the best setting for you. There is an Automatic function which can be selected to let the camera learn and adjust to the area being viewed. This works well when there is the possibility of high traffic at various times to keep from getting too many alert notifications. There is a two way speaker and a alarm horn which can be turned on or off as desired. I am able to monitor the cameras from anywhere using the mobile app. This is a very good outdoor security camera choice at a very reasonable price. I will buy additional ones for other remote locations

Easy to set up and use, works well with the app sending alerts to my phone. I use it to cover my drive way and walkway to my front door, it has great picture and video quality, day and night! The solar charging works very well, I don't have to take it down to charge it. Overall a great security camera at a affordable price.

This camera was very easy to setup. It has an SD card slot for local recording. Connecting to the cloudedge app was a breeze. It has great picture quality. I love the ability of 360 degree rotation from the phone. Being in Ohio the battery has held up strong against the terrible winter we have going on. The lights on the camera are bright and I was glad to know I can set it up on a timer. The siren is also quite loud and the speaker on the camera is good. Only thing I wish for is 5Ghz network compatibility as I had to connect it to a 2.4GHz range extender.

Updated to five stars This device is able to add an additional solar panel to it, you use the same area at the base of the camera to attach the solar panel, photo below which you can request from Customer Service to be able to make sure you have enough sunlight on the solar panel to run the camera. The fact that this game has the ability to do this, makes it rise up to the standard that is expected for five stars. This is a very reliable company and the quality of the internal camera and lens is excellent. This two piece camera set comes well secured in the box at nicely packed. It is very easy to figure out and install quickly. The camera has iCloud features. You have a choice of two different apps to use with the cameras CloudEdge or Coouacam It uses an up to 128 GB SD card that is class 10 I highly recommend that you put an SD card in this camera while using, it is not included with the camera. This camera uses many choices on how you want to install it and connect to the app. It is best placed on the corner of the building. Please see my photos for ideas. The camera has quick connect clip that will release itself from the clip very quick and fast. It is agreed that it is nice to have the solar panel attached to the camera. However, in this case I found when placing up beside a tree, it was difficult because the panel was not adjustable. That is why this product is getting a four star. The angle of the solar panel hinders your mountability. This company puts out very good quality cameras with very good quality lenses excellent viewing and clear photos. The zoom feature and the ability to spin the camera are excellent things that this camera can achieve 360° turnability. All motion detection can be changed by the settings on the app, which is very user-friendly. This is an excellent value for the price paid. I put this camera up a couple weeks ago and I haven’t had any issues with the battery not being charged at 100% since then. Absolutely no issues with this camera at all the notifications are excellent and adjustable and you are able to talk to people from your app to the camera itself.
