Petmate Kennel Bowl, Large

After trying many other water dishes for the crate of our 100 pound German Shepherd. We finally found this one which will not spill over. It is very sturdy and much smaller than all the other bowls we bought. The key is to place it low in the corner. We Are now getting a good nights sleep after he’s had some water from this bowl. We keep a bottle near the crate to refill as needed. Very good price and well worth purchase!!

Perfect for my dog’s crate while flying. Met airline standards, easy to assemble and fill while in crate. Stable for travel and easy to clean. Very nice. Like them way better than the steel set we had.

Overall, this bowl is exactly what I was looking for. It stays well, but does rock a little when my puppy stands on it. I have tightened it as much as possible, and it still moves. Not enough to make it ineffective though. It is pretty tough to get off with how tight it needs to be. I have been wiping it out in between washes to stretch how often I need to wash it. Great for pups who need 24/7 access to water and spill their usual dishes in their crates.Also the durability is great. I have a 3 month old pit mix with a STRONG jaw. She has chewed on this quite a bit and there is only small teeth marks. She hasn't been able to break this or take off chunks. For reference, she has been destroying bark box super chewer rubber toys. (not the hard nylon ones)

It pains me what a good idea this product is and how poorly executed. I have two perfectly standard black collapsible crates, the absolute most basic and standard kind of all-wire crate imaginable. Despite the product’s claim that it fits most wire crates, it does not fit either of mine. It might fit the wire door of a travel crate? But if you have an all-wire crate, I think it’s most likely that it will not fit.There are two problem, which another reviewer also demonstrates well with photographs. First, the space between the spouts is too narrow to go around the crate’s wires. Second, the collar where the shaft with the screw threads meets the base of the bowl extends too far. Both prevent the fully assembled bowl from fitting on the crate. And these problems are avoidable, because they can be fixed by filing or grinding down the relevant parts. They could easily have made this thing work if they’d ever tested it on a run-of-the-mill collapsible crate.So why, with such a flawed design and a false claim to fit most crates, do I still give it 3 stars? Because the idea, for a bowl that can easily be filled from outside the crate, is such a good one, and it really does work well once you have modified the product. It’s easy to fill and stays securely in place. I haven’t seen anything else quite like it. I like the star feature enough that, after I damaged the spout of one trying to modify it, I bought a second to modify to replace it! My only complaint about the modified product is that it’s a little hard to unscrew and remove, but that does give me confidence it will stay in place well.So, if you want a bowl you can fill from outside and either have a crate with very fine wire or are willing to put in some time with a file/grinder, this one is for you. If you want something you can use out of box, skip it. And if you’re the manufacturer—PLEASE test this with standard collapsible crates and update your design!

Need right away, ordered and received within a couple of days. Perfect fitment and was able to transport my dog from Florida to Hawaii with no issues. Item is of good quality and easy to install. Good product!!!!

I bought one of these years ago to keep in the crate with my tiny blind dachshund because she didn't like or couldn't use the hamster water bottle. Years later, I've bought another for my lab puppy. My only complaint is that the gap between the little piles that flow into the bowl is a little narrow for the crate I'm currently using (a size Large), but with a little pressure it still fit. I love being able to refill the water from outside the cate. At the same time, it's easy enough to remove and clean frequently.

The design is ingenious but the execution is definitely not. Second time puppy was left for two hours in his crate, he broke the cup right off the door attachment. It’s useless now and I don’t even think it can be recycled. Definitely would not recommend.

I was expecting lower quality based on reviews but I am pleasantly surprised! It’s sturdy, easy to take on/off and works exactly how it’s supposed to. I loved the idea of being able to refill the water from the outside.We will be traveling with our cat internationally from Japan to the US in a few months. I am an over planner and was concerned with the need to open the kennel to replenish his water at our layovers. My fat cat Fabio would escape and cause a scene at every opportunity. This works exactly as designed where you can fill it up from the outside. There is also a lip on the inside to help keep the food and water from spilling. It’s nothing short of brilliant!Before purchasing I was worried by some reviews mentioning it was a faulty design and wouldn’t allow it to line up on wire kennels. When you first put it on it absolutely seems that way but after a second I noticed you install it with the wire going through the plastic bolt. It fits perfectly and makes the whole thing much more secure. I included pictures to make it more clear.
