This is a very good book for learning Japanese vocabulary. I bought it for JLPT N5 to N3, and my friends also use it for N2. The vocabulary is well organized and very useful for JLPT preparation.I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their Japanese vocabulary.

Good book if you want to recall vocabulary. You need something else to learn along, as this book is full of examples, but has very little explanation.

I bought this book because it was recommended by a Japanese learning website, but it's the most frustrating guide I have used thus far. First, all of the Japanese is in pink lettering which makes it super difficult to read (yes, this is because it has the red "decoder" card gimmick). Additionally the fonts are really small -- the smallest of any Japanese language learning book I've seen, and I've looked at a dozen or more in the bookstore. The kanji itself is too small, but the furigana is practically unreadable... it's about 1mm tall! (I'm not exaggerating) Lastly, it includes Vietnamese. WTH? So the book wastes space by including Vietnamese, and then makes the font small so that everything fits but is impossible to read? This is such a bizarre choice. There should be a Japanese-English only version with bigger fonts. This book is so difficult to read unless I'm in bright office lights or outside in the sun... forget trying to study using the light from a bedside lamp before you go to sleep at night.

Brilliant. Especially as there is a podcast channel with all the audio making it very easy to play along as i’m reading. The text i don’t find so difficult to read as i expected from reading other reviews.

It comes with english and Vietnam translations. I thought it was bigger, but the size turned out perfect. It has this red square so you can study without translation. I loved it. Viene con traducciones en inglés y vietnamita. Pensé que era más grande pero resulta ser más pequeño y eso es perfecto. Trae este cuadro rojo para ocultar las traducciones y que puedas estudiar sin ellas.
