Yes, Takeya products and accessories are BPA-free. The Tea Maker/Pitcher body is made from high-quality, BPA-free Tritan, which can withstand boiling hot and ice cold temperatures. Can I place Takeya products in the Freezer? The only product you can place in a freezer are their Freshlok airtight storage containers. Placing their other products in the freezer may damage them. Can I use my own loose leaf tea or tea bags? You’ll get richer flavor and a better brew using TAKEYA loose leaf iced teas specially blended and pre-measured for their system. But yes, you can use any brand. They recommend using approximately 4-6 tablespoons of tea or 4-6 teabags with their 1 quart Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker, and 8-10 tablespoons or 8-10 teabags with their 2 quart Maker. These are suggestions only and results will vary with the brand/type of tea. Do TAKEYA loose leaf teas contain gluten, dairy or nuts? No, they do not. However, it’s possible they may have been stored in proximity to other products that may contain those allergens. Are TAKEYA iced teas all-natural? Yes, their loose leaf teas are all-natural, no artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives . That’s one reason they’re so healthy and delicious.
