the perfect tool for the sketcher on the go
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artiste the portable painter kit is a well thought out, properly designed and useful product.I guess one could find a flaw in anything but its usefulness, practicality, simple design, and portability makes it the overall best portable kit in the market.I am truly mobile and am unable to just sit in my studio and paint. I needed a product that does everything this one does without any further complications. It does it flawlessly:1. The pans are the right size and are affixed (and easily removable) to the palette. the kit does not rattle2. the product is well made and pleasing to handle, solid build, does not buckle when using it proper.3. I enjoy using the portable double-ended brush. it works for sketches on the go as it was intended.I highly recommend to anyone who is trying to get their own portable kit or enjoys a well-designed product and appreciates good engineering with good ideas.

An incredibly versatile set up for painting with watercolor.
A well-designed and compact painting palette that can be used in the field very easily by sitting on your leg or standing alone on a rock or log. You can fill the half-pans with your personal color choices and go literally anywhere--from your living room couch to the deep wilderness.

Excellent Product Way Sturdier Than It Looks
I bought this palette for more impromptu watercolor painting when compactness was a must. I kept trying to make my own kit pack down to where I could carry it easily but no luck. I tried even just an altoids tin with pans but those cant fit brushes and no place to put water so I ordered this. I am glad to say its well worth the money. I had my doubts given how the pictures make it look but this is without a doubt the most well built plastic anything ive ever had. Really I can squeeze as hard as I can on the water cups and they barely have any flex in them at all. If anything this palette is almost overbuilt but not in a bad way. It is still super light and I enjoy carrying this with a watercolor sketchbook and thats all. Ive also seen some of the reviews say the brush is too small but really its not. I get the same amount of watercolor paint to come off of this brush as one of my size 8 brushes. Also the metal emblem when its off the palette you can attach it onto the rubber ring that came with the palette. When I am not using this palette I put the rubber ring over top of the metal emblem as extra security to prevent it from coming off even though thats very unlikely that it would. My only somewhat complaint is that the pans are stuck inside the palette however if you have every used one of the winsor and newton cotman palettes you know how annoying it is to have them rattling and shaking making lots of noise everytime the palette just shifts in your bag so ill definitely call this slight negative a win. This palette really works great and it is super sturdy so I will be using it for many years to come. For the sake of disclosure I was not sent this for review nor am I affiliated with the company in any way. I bought this with my own money. Im definitely glad I did. I have it down to where if I want to go out for a quick painting session all I need is this and a watercolor sketchbook and a bottle of water nothing else. I have this set up inside of a minute and a half and ready to paint. If you dont believe me look on youtube at all the other people reviewing this. If you have any questions ask them and they will definitely answer them. Im very glad I got this. Thank You for making such a great product

A Traveler's Dream
Wow, I'm seriously impressed with this Palette. I've been looking for something to pan some paints in for plein air painting in the warmer months. For now, I just use it at my desk.Starting off, the packaging was very professional and helpful regarding how to set the palette up and put it away. The extra pans are incredibly convenient and have been pretty easy to swap colors out. The construction of the entire piece feels solid, not cheaply made. The metal slider holding the parts together is not loose and it keeps everything in place pretty well. The sides are not flimsy and I have had not any issues with it tipping over on a desk. There's an OK amount of space on the parts that fold out to mix colors.Honestly, after having looked at so many options available - I am VERY happy with this purchase.

Well designed, highly portable, compact size
The design of this makes working in the field very easy. I have used it at home as well. The designer/company apparently listened to earlier reviewers about the silver clasp and fears and cautions about losing it. Mine included a band that is useful to hold the clasp, but also, I have used it as a brush holder for my smaller brushes. I love it.

BEST PALETTE. PERIOD.
As a watercolorist and teacher, I’ve used and seen almost every palette there is. This is the best one. Genius design. Compact. Well made. Reasonably priced. If you want to enjoy painting in watercolor, get yourself this palette.

You can’t mix colors
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to love this palette but the pain beads on the mixing compartments making it extremely difficult to see what color you’re mixing.I’m using Daniel Smith paints and can’t rely on this palette to mix to lower values.Extremely disappointing because I love the whole setup so much! The concept is fabulous but the execution leaves much to be desired.

Yes. Need. Get. Use.
Just exactly what it is supposed to be. Portable painter. It’s compact but big. Perfect for on the go to stop on a whim. Small enough to throw in your pocket. It stays in my portable kit bag or my jacket pocket. Must get.

Plein air painting
I like everything about it, I walk everyday and it’s in my backpack with my watercolour book, pencils etc and I take a picture or sketch my views when I sit along my different walks then I’ll sit down and paint 😀Very cute little brush, best suited for smaller paintings (which I do), I highly recommend them!
