Barilla Protein Plus Penne, Grain and Legume Pasta, 14.5 Oz

I'm so impressed with all of the protein plus pastas in this brand. It stands up to sauce well, cooks faster and tastes just as good, if not better, than regular pasta. It's a great addition to almost any diet and, for the ingredients and quality, the price is more than reasonable. With meatballs and sauce, this is about 4 servings for me. People who eat less than me will get even more meals out of each box. Will be purchasing more.

Honestly, I can't tell that much difference between this and regular pasta WHICH IS A GREAT THING!. When compared to the same brand but just regular ole Penne pasta, it has 10 less calories per serving. 6 net carbs less than the regular and 3 more grams of protein. Downside is it is about a dollar more per box (if you was shopping at walmart) anyways, those numbers may not sound like a large difference but if you are using this for meal prep / weight loss / protein gains etc those difference do add up pretty quick. Ive used this Penne and the protein + elbows and they both do well being reheated even several days later from the fridge. Not to mention that the lentils and chickpeas probably better for you anyways so its a win win. Texture is good to.

This pasta is great! Texture is a dream for a protein pasta! Gluten free, low carb and great for diabetics ! I’m so happy to have pasta back in my diet!

Texture holds up well, doesn't get gummy or fall apart during cooking like some protein pastas can when overcooked even slightly. Flavor is close enough to regular pasta that it doesn't taste like a compromise just to get extra protein in, which is the biggest complaint with a lot of protein-boosted pasta alternatives. Good swap if you're looking to add more protein to meals without sacrificing taste or texture. No issues with cooking time or consistency either.

Tastes the very same as regular brands, yet considerably higher VEGAN/VEGETARIAN protein. Although wish didn't cost a bit more.
