Nice replacement rubber for my 2010 Scion TC hatch release. Removed old one cold so it peeled off pretty well with minimal cleanup. Kind of comical, the included screw driver isn’t the right size phillips head for the factory screws or the replacement. But I have a mini ratchet driver set that worked great. Time will tell how long it lasts, but so far so good.

Cheapest I could find that included the screwdriver, but the screws are really hard to get out with only the supplied tool so I would highly recommend using a 1/4 wrench and a philips bit or a bit ratchet to make the job MUCH easier. Fit was great, just be sure to clean the switch surface fully including the channel in the middle by first scraping any big bits of gummy rubber with a plastic scraper(I used a piece cut from a spray can top) then remove the last bits of black goo with an adhesive remover like goo gone(works almost instantly dissolving the rubber while leaving the switch plastic unaffected) You also want to clean the top lip of the switch since the new cover wraps around it. A fine tip pick or paperclip works well for cleaning the channel, and you'll also want a small pry bar to help get the switch loose.

***** 6 Month Update - Have to drop my rating to 3 stars due to product durability issues. Unfortunately the rubber has begun cracking and I'm not sure if this will last much longer than a couple of years. Granted my car is parked outside, but I'm located in CA and we don't really experience extreme cold or heat so I can't blame this cracking issue on exposure to extremes in temperature. This is a secondary car which isn't used on a daily basis so it's not like the switch experienced hundreds of use since installation. Make sure you wear rubber gloves otherwise the old rubber remnants will get all over your finger tips. Don't rely on the tool provided with the kit to get the old screws off and new screws on. Guarantee the reduced frustration and time from using a low profile ratchet or low profile offset screw driver to get the phillips head screws off is worth the $10 bucks you'll spend on the proper tool. Other option is to pull the rear trunk trim in order to remove the entire body panel above the rear license plate but that simply adds complexity and effort greater than is needed for the job. Once the screws are off, you'll need to pry out the entire trunk release switch (disgustingly covered with the melted old rubber cover) which will allow you to pull the release switch a couple of inches from the body panel. The only thing holding the switch to the car are two (white/red) thin wires so don't pull it too hard. Use a screwdriver or other flat tool to scrape off the melted rubber. This will take some time so don't get too frustrated. Don't forget to scrape the rubber that is remaining on the backside of the switch because if you don't it will not allow the new cover to properly wrap around the edges of the switch helping to minimize water intrusion behind the switch. Getting the new cover on requires a bit of finagling as you'll need to pull/stretch the new cover over and around the the edges of the switch. Once you've gotten this far pushing the unit back into place and getting the new screws provided with the kit is a piece of cake.

Toyota didn't make it easy to unscrew and replace the pad, so it is nice that the bent screwdriver comes with this replacement kit. I have 1,000 tools and I still needed/used this tool. You could put a Phillips bit in a small ratchet and use that. But the included screwdriver worked fine. Be aware the process may not be a 5-minute "unscrew, remove old, insert new one, screw it back together." My old rubber pad had deteriorated so much it was sticky and gummy and removing the old pad tore the rubber and left sticky residue on the nylon frame. *** Use rubbing alcohol to remove old rubber residue *** Using a rag, Q-tips and copious amounts of alcohol--which doesn't degrade the nylon--plus time and persistence got the nylon pretty darn clean in 15 minutes or so. Installing the new one and screwing it back in place was easy. Fit was perfect.

Fit good, tool included to remove screws on a Sienna is no good so used own tools. Happy with purchase so far.

My OEM rubber cover had somehow deteriorated into a horrible gooey mess that rendered the switch inoperative. It was a difficult cleanup job with lacquer thinner and a small brush, but the old one eventually melted off. The new rubber cover fit perfectly and works very well. I recommend it!
