Works very well
First test on a 10+ year old gaming PC turned Linux media center. Running Mint/Mate LTS. Turned on my Bluetooth speaker. It was identified straight away. I had Bluetooth software installed some time ago. Paired quickly, and the audio from my PC muted and the speaker played. I can get as far as the edge of my property, not far, before the signal starts to fail. I have an idea to extend the range but we will see if it works to use a USB extension cord to position the dongle higher and away from the computers power supply. This will be easier with my old laptops as they are portable. I wanted to be able to listen to independent, NON MSM news, while working outside or in areas of the house away from my computer and speaker system. Before, I had to crank it way up and open windows lol Second test on a 15+ year old HP laptop. Would have been a high end PC in its' hay day. This PC has one issue with Ubuntu based and some other GNU/Linux operating systems. They are all related to this PC having two different video outputs with different hardware and drivers, causing constant attempts to find a missing monitor??? Put either Debian or LMDE on it and it only enables the needed drivers and hardware. It has no other issues. Running LMDE. This Bluetooth transceiver reached the advertised 100 feet, with the laptop in my work shop. Thinner walls lol. I'll test on yet another old laptop soon. I expect it will work fine. If I have any complaint it is that 100 feet isn't quite far enough. I have property on both sides of the highway, and the signal cuts out before reaching the farthest point from a computer with the dongle plugged in. Not a deal breaker though; I can easily switch to a different PC or in some cases just use my Wi-Fi connected spy phone(no SIM, not going to get one either).

StarTech.com USB Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter, Linux compatable
This is working very well. A big improvment over a good usb dongle. The computer sits next to a window. I went probably 100 feet or more outside and around a tree before I had any connetion issuue. It worked everywhere inside the house. I run Linux mint. Bluetooth: Device-1: Realtek Bluetooth Radio type: USB driver: btusb v: 0.8 I used it today running my lathe inside a tin wall shop with the door open. Music sounded great. I would deffiantly recomend this

Works great on Arch Linux, strong and stable connection
I’ve been using this adapter on Arch Linux and it works perfectly. It was plug and play for me, and the connection has been stable with good range. No random disconnects, pairing is quick, and audio devices stay connected reliably. If you’re on Linux, especially Arch, this has been a solid buy.

Perfect for PC
It works great! I have a PC and the built-in Bluetooth sucks, so I got this and now I can use my Bluetooth headphones without any problems. The range is good too. Installation was a breeze. Totally worth it!

Works with Linux as stated.
Actually works with Linux (Debian/Ubuntu 24.04).

Was will ich mehr!?

I tested it compared to one of those small Bluetooth adapter by walking around my house and the distance it manages is an obvious improvement. Was completely compatible with my Linux setup.
