We call this little whale thermometer Shamoo. The string disintegration dropped it from 5 to 4 stars. Otherwise, he floats around the pool happily keeping track of the temperature.

Cute, but floats on its side unless you hold it upside under water for a few seconds. (Was hoping it would just float normally if I tossed it into the pool)

always seems to want to float laying sideways instead of down into the water. I'll probably just need to glue a small washer or something on to the bottom

The floating top has started to detach from the thermometer, and the rope has broken. I’ve had this less than a month and it’s falling apart.

Doesnt stay standing up in water so therefore its getting the temperature of the top of the water. Very cute though...

This product floats on its side rather than up and down. I contacted the seller to see if there was a trick to it, but didn't get a response. It seems to work fine, but will only read the very surface of the water temp.
