I purchased the D8W Scanner and I don't regret it. I have not been paid or asked to make a positive review in exchange for a free product. I am an Amazon buyer and more than a DIY mechanic that work on all of my family and friends cars and so, I had the opportunity to test this machine on a variety of vehicles from diferent manufactures and models as well as to compare this tool with others competing in the same market. I put together a few thought to help you get a detail view of what this product can do for you and so, make it easier for you to decide if it's right one for you or not. 1- The topoly feature on this scanner (D8W) is fast and, can only be obtained from XTOOL on this price range. No other scanner in the market offers it for less than $900. 2- The D8W comes with an 8" display again, something you can get from other stableshed brands of manufactures of Auto Scanners but at a higher cost. 3- Don't think that you are buying a flimsy and cheap product because it is affordable, this scanner feels solid.and it weights more than any other unit I had the opportunity to test/try of this size, assuring the buyer they are buying something durable and well made. 4- Across the market of wireless OBD scanners, many people complaint about miss/lost communication between the wireless OBD2 adaptor and the main unit but, till now, it hasn't happen to me, what leads me to believe your product does not have that issue and the connection between them is very stable. 5- Compared to other scanners on this price range, the UI is simple enough for anyone to use and even known, sometimes you have to play/look around to get to what you are looking for, if does offer a fair amount of choices and information to get the job done. 6- It comes with 3 years of free updates. At $199 a year, it's a hello of a bargain. 7- The frequency of updates provided to the D8W, is like no other manufacturer in the market. Like I said before, I not only had a few makes and models of both scanners and automobiles on hand to test them but also the time and interest to do it, and none of them had updates every week or almost daily like XTOOL do. I concider it a good thing because, it.is proof they are.working constantly to improve and maintain their product up to date with the latest software. 8- The battery, as long as you turn the unit off, like I do when you are done using it, will remain at the same level and will nor drain on its own. 9- You don't have to add your email to the device in order to be able to use it like you do with other manufactures. This simple thing avoids the multiple emails to fill up the device-storage and also the annoying notifications and remaining of them. 10- The D8W has a bilt in speaker. Yes, you may be surprised with this statement but, I had a well stablished brand scanner that didn't have one, making the feature of auto web search weak and sometimes unusable because is very hard to desifer what people are saying on a YouTube video if they are not speaking directly into the camera. Granted, not everything is perfect on this unit and, I m going to tell you about it too. If you are a professional mechanic that deals with scanners and work on the Fiat/Chrysler brand, you will now the TPMS issue is the number one complaint amount this family of automobiles. I believe they can sell this scanner for more money if they were to concider making a few minor adjustments/improvements to it. 1- My screen is not too bright and hard to see outside during the day when exposed to direct sun light. I confess, I haven't remove the screen protector that came installed on top of the screen yet and, I am almost sure must of the screen glare will go away once I do it. 2- The trouble codes have a brief description next to it but, if you want to get more info, you will be directed to the web using the tablet's web browser Google Chrome". You won't have to remember the codes numbers because, the machine will do an auto search on the subject to make it easier on you, the user. 3- The TPMS feature still very basic, I beleive a grafic UI can be shown with the tire pressures, temperature, sensor ID and battery status of all 4,5 or 6 tires, on a single screen to make better sense and understanding of the system functionality and how the computer is receiving/reading that information. I hope I was able to give you an honest description of what you are getting if you decide to buy this product (D8W). Also, this company's commitment and efforts to make a much better product each day. Happy shopping.

I've had this scanner going on 3 years, Works perfect, I Have not had any real issues with it at all, Any little issues I have had XTOOL'S customer service comes through with flying colors fixing the problem, Updates are pretty consistent, Not like some other scanners I own. No scanner does everything but XTOOL leads the way on things one scanner can do for multiple manufacturers. The XTOOL is easy to use. Won't break the bank. Spot on accurate. No shop should be without an XTOOL scanner in their arsenal. I've worked at dealerships and have been a mechanic (Now an Auto Technician) ha ha for way more than 40 years. I highly recommend XTOOL for new just starting out Technicians and Seasoned Pros !

This is the best scan tool I have used, The topology view makes it far easier to get an overall view of system faults. It is much faster than any others I own and the extended free updates make it well worth the price. Right out of the box it supports a lot of functions on practically all vehicles and seems to receive updates pretty much daily. The wifi wireless dongle allows you to take the tool under the hood to view live data while at the engine. It also is very fast and has a very long range, I've taken it over 50ft with no problem. It comes in a very nice carrying case that feels ruged and high quality and holds the tool as well as the accessories included. I've also found the diagnostic reports it creates are very well laid out and professional looking, It actually lets me send them to my printer indoors directly from the tool in the parkinglot. I have been impressed by the battery life, I've used it for several hours at a time and it still keeps nearly a full charge. The size and shape of the tool make it very easy to hold and the kickstand on the back is oerfect, not flimsy like some I have used. Overall this is a great tool that performs as well as the more expensive ones but at a very reasonable price.

I wanted a tool that would let me not only scan and analyze literally EVERYTHING in our vehicles, present and future, but would also allow me to change features, add new stuff, and make a service record for each one - and this tool does all that. But first, a word about something VERY important: Customer support and communications. Before I bought from this company, I looked at dozens of reviews for this and other companies, and it seemed as though the negative comments centered around poor or no customer service. Not so with XTool. They've answered every question almost immediately, many on the same day. I sent them the VIN numbers for all of our vehicles, ranging from Dodge to Jeep to Hyundai. They verified that this tool would work with them and they did it right away. I've already received over 100 free software updates, many for American made cars. And they just keep coming. Dealer service mode? No problem. The D8BT will let you perform service tests that you thought only a dealership could. I immediately checked/recalibrated the HVAC door actuators, tested the audio system, and changed several settings in the ECU to change things that I found irritating before. Check out some of the pictures. The information given on some of these screens is stuff that normally requires very expensive test equipment to obtain, and a lot of time to connect the equipment. If you're a small shop or backyard mechanic, this tool will be gold. I've already used this to locate and correct issues with three of our vehicles, and some with friends' cars also. I have yet to experience a rude surprise. A couple points: If a control module for a vehicle that you're working on doesn't support a particular Special Function, you can't change it. You'll get a screen that says "The selected Function is not supported". Also, American made vehicles won't let you disable the engine stop-start feature, although many foreign cars will. However -- it DOES recognize the aftermarket MPC Remote Start and the PAC aftermarket backup camera systems that I bought here on Amazon. That's a pleasant surprise. They both work great so I didn't need to change anything, but it's nice to know that they're "in the loop", should it become necessary. I haven't had a single instance where the Bluetooth connection was glitchy, or the D8BT failed to auto-identify a vehicle automatically. So I'm happy! My only complaint it with the case. The unit is held in place with Velcro straps under foam, which doesn't last long. I'm working on a solution for this. There's a full 16 pin OBD2 male to female extension flat ribbon cable sold here on Amazon that works great with the Bluetooth dongle supplied with the D8BT. It makes reaching hard to reach or "backwards" ports easier to connect to. UPDATE (2.23.23): I just made a key for my son's 2016 Jeep Cherokee. Boy, was that easy! It took all of 2 minutes. All key functions work perfectly, including the remote start. That saved me about $200 in dealer's fees.

The D8W scanner makes everything easier and saves time, The Wi-fi interface is super-fast, I actually think it is faster than a wired connection. I have Bluetooth scanners and they are 3 times slower than my D8W, the D8W is fast, plus the new AI features are great, you can have AI research your specific error code and it will provide great suggestion on the next steps you can take, or you can simply select the lookup code option and it will do a google lookup on the specific code giving you more than enough information on your P-Code. I love the special functions, with my newer cars doing my rear brakes is a breeze, very easy to set the rear brake pad to Maintenance mode, change the brake pads, and then set to normal mode, made my life easier. I was also impressed with the refresh rate on the screen when you do live data, there is no delay. Using the graphing function in the live data I was able to test the drop voltage on my battery and the charging voltage on my alternator, I posted it on my video for reference if you are interested in seeing. Another feature that I find extremely helpful is the topology feature, you can quickly see what module has issues, great feature. This is a full bi-directional scanner that allows you to control individual components in your car, no need to remove a part to test individually, if the component is supported then you can turn it on or off directly from the D8W, keep in mind not all components are supported for all vehicles, there is no tool that offers that support, that being said, the D8W is a full system scanner for high-end diagnostics.
