Excellent Quality Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
I recently purchased these Ceylon cinnamon sticks, and the quality is outstanding! The sticks are beautifully crafted – lighter in color, smooth, and easy to break compared to the dense, darker Cassia (Saigon) cinnamon sticks. What truly sets Ceylon cinnamon apart is its health benefits. Unlike Cassia, which contains high levels of coumarin (a compound that can be harmful to the liver in large amounts), Ceylon cinnamon has minimal coumarin content. This makes it the perfect choice for those who enjoy cinnamon regularly in teas, soups, or baked goods. The aroma is sweet, warm, and subtle, adding a gentle yet rich flavor to my teas and slow-cooked recipes. I’ve also noticed how much easier these sticks are to grind into fresh powder – they’re more brittle and less woody than Cassia sticks. If you're searching for high-quality cinnamon sticks that are both aromatic and beneficial to your health, these Ceylon sticks are a fantastic option. Highly recommend for anyone who loves to use cinnamon daily!

Always fresh, fragrant and flavorful
We've been buying these Frontier Co-op organic Ceylong ("true cinnamon") sticks for years. And with the exception of one or two orders over all those years, most of the sticks arrive intact and full of warm, gentle flavor. But if you've never tried Ceylon cinnamon sticks, be aware that the sticks are more papery and fragile, and some sticks may shred a bit, unlike the more common, hard, tightly curled cassia (usually labeled Vietnamese or Saigon cinnamon) sticks. We use these Ceylon sticks daily in our morning coffee, mostly for cinnamon's reputed health benefits, which are reportedly best extracted with water. And Ceylon cinnamon, with its sweeter, more delicate flavor, doesn't overpower the coffee. Also, adding a couple of sticks when making hot cocoa infuses a warm depth of flavor that pairs beautifully with chocolate.Because Vietnamese cinnamon has higher levels of coumarin, it isn't recommended for daily intake in higher doses (but like most information available on the internet, you can always find opposing views), and in any case, we love the more subtle flavor of Ceylon cinnamon (which is also the same as Mexican canela). But for most baking, ground Vietnamese/Saigon cinnamon is the way to go, or you may be disappointed with the lack spicy punch, which the Ceylon variety, with its more delicate flavor profile, would be too understated. But for adding to hot drinks, cider, cocktails, infused creams and stocks, as well as use Indonesian/Middle-Eastern/North African dishes, these mildly aromatic organic Ceylon sticks are perfect.

Ceylon is best cinnamon nutritionally.
Very good. Bag of cinnamon does not smell like cinnamon more like a pepper but the flavor is milder than I was used to and does have the cinnamon flavor when consumed.I put mine into my coffee pot for flavoring. I did note that the thinner sticks seem to crumble more easily than I am used to also. My last purchase just said it was from Indonesia. In reviewing the best cinnamon nutritionally this was what I found was recommended so Ceylon is what I purchased.

Awful
I have bought this from this company for years and have always been pleased with it. You could smell the strong cinnamon as soon as you opened the bag. This didn't smell like cinnamon at all. In fact, it smelled horrible. The best I can describe it was a chemical smell. Also they were all dried out and brittle. The one pic is one from the previous bag next to the new bag. Obvious difference. So disappointed that I can't use them in my potpourri pot.Update: I am pleased to announce that the seller has rectified the situation and, therefore, I am changing my review.

Not what I'm used to
Korintje is my preferred variety of cinnamon, but I wanted to try the Ceylon for a change. I found it to be more of a chemical-tasting spice than Korintje. Korintje is much sweeter, so you can use a lot of it if you want to, and it doesn't get hot or overpowering—not the Ceylon type. I only say this if you are a regular Korintje and wish to try Ceylon. I will find a use for the Ceylon cinnamon somehow.

GREAT BUY: Quality Ceylon Cinnamon!
The Frontier Co-Op ceylon cinnamon sticks are excellent quality and the best ceylon cinnamon product that I have purchased to date.I used them to make organic tea and the flavor was amazing. The sticks came seal in a bag as advertised. The only downside is the bag is not resealable. These sticks are a quality product and I will definitely purchase them again.
