Sierra Designs Mens Cagoule Rain Jacket

Got it to repel rain...so far it does, although haven’t been in a downpour yet. I like the roomy fit. Wish it had hand pockets.Very pleased with this purchase through the first month.

Decent fit for a 6'4" 245# man. (L/XL). When snapped/folded hits at waist, when full length at knee. Easily accommodates a small daypack or lumbar pack underneath. Windproof and good waterproofing but noisy fabric as mentioned in other reviews. Garment breathes but still traps heat when exerting in rainstorms but what raingear doesn't? I added pit zips and a chest zip inside the kangaroo pocket to improve ventilation when desired. Also added a cellphone pocket, cable pass through, and key clip in the kangaroo pocket to minimize things flopping around. Now it is super versatile for walking in the rain for hours yet still packs down small.

I wanted badly to like this product because it's exactly what I'm looking for and there are hardly any true cagoules available on the market. Sadly, however, it fell very short of my expectations. It is much too small in the upper body (and particularly the arms) for any man over six feet to be comfortable in it. Perhaps, if you are a tall skinny man with tiny arms and a tiny head, you may be okay. But if your torso is even vaguely v-shaped just save your money and find another product.

Good sizing, solid construction, purpose driven garment. Excellent multi-use coat for the backcountry but forget about stalking that deer or hearing the subtle sounds of nature as you move/walk. The rustling noise created by the fabric is significant.
