Pressing quality is poor
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I wanted to love this. Home Alone is a perennial Christmas favourite and I absolutely adore John Williams' glorious soundtrack. Sadly Mondo have massively dropped the ball on the quality of the record pressing here. The positives - the packaging and presentation is beautifully done, clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into this. It's just such a shame that the same attention to detail and level of effort hasn't gone into the actual pressing of the records, or at the very least, the quality control of that pressing - rejecting those that came with the same problems I experienced with 3 copies of this. Each of the 3 copies I went through have had similar problems, particulary with the second (red) disc. There is a warp/pressing error that affects the beginning tracks of each side - this seems to level out as the tracks go on but the impact is still somewhat visible. The first copy I had this was so bad it actually caused the stylus to jump off the record with each revolution, which was alarming to say the least. Stupidly I didn't capture this on video, but did so with one of the others. On the other copies the problem has affected it to varying degrees, but as you can see in the video, it causes the whole tonearm/headshell/cartrdige to move around quite significantly. It also causes the cantilever to wobble and move which is alarming as no movement should be visible in the cantilever. With a properly pressed, flat record, none of this should happen at all, the stylus should just sit in the groove and no other horizontal or vertical movement should be visible other than the stylus following the groove.I would have sacrificed some of the impressive presentation and packaging experience for a properly pressed record. Or alternatively if Mondo had wished to keep the standard of the packaging, I would have happily paid more to have the same attention to detail given to the pressing of the record.I don't know if a representative of Mondo will see this and would want to reach out, but if they do see this I would implore them to fully investigate whatever presssing plant they use to ensure better quality in the future. And if the pressing plant can't guarantee this, to move your production somewhere else where they can actually get it right. Yes it might increase the overall cost, but it's one I personally would be happy to take on to guarantee that the records are actually being made correctly.

Absolute Magic!
As a kid of the 90s, Home Alone is staple at Christmas, so I needed to own this iconic John Williams soundtrack. You don't quite appreciate from the Amazon image, but the gatefold is die cut, creating an awesome 3D effect of the famous McCallister house. Very neat and of a high production quality.I've had absolutely no issues with playback (as other reviewers have mentioned), and each track plays with absolute clarity and no skipping or surface noise.I LOVE the red and green vinyls too - overall, simply amazing!

Great album
Really nice album, artwork, coloured vinyl, little play on the artwork and the sleeves for the window views. Just a really nice piece if you're into it..

A beautiful soundtrack ruined by subpar quality
I'm on my second one of these, both of which have been black vinyl rather than coloured. The first one was incredibly scuffed up dirty and dusty, the second one is a little scuffed/scratched but nowhere near as bad as the first. However it still sounds crackly and some pops during play, even after cleaning twice. This is likely due to the fact that I cannot for the life of me get the dust off of these records! There seems to be a permanent layer of fine dust along with bigger particles all over them. I've spent the best part of the day trying to get it off and as a result I think I've created even more surface damage with the amount of times I've ran a carbon fibre brush over them.I'm considering trying to track down a coloured version to see if that's any better, but I'm not holding my breath. I may end up giving up on owning this soundtrack. It's heartbreaking as the music and the packaging is so beautiful!
