My favorite Casio
After seeing this in person I don't know why I waited so long to add this one to my collection. It's quite an attractive watch, even if for more the geeky type to fawn over. I love the retro look to it, but also not feeling like it's just an old relic on my wrist. The date/day are large enough and easy to read, the orange backlight looks nice but I wish it lit up more than just the left side, perhaps being located at the top would disperse the light better over the whole display. I was concerned it would appear too big on my wrist or not sit quite well with the two section design, I can safely say it does no look overly large in the least. It's quite comfortable to wear, with the band being easily adjustable, just unlock a tab with a small flathead and push back in once you find your size. I was expecting the case and strap to feel a bit heavier, has more a plastic feel to it moreso than I figured it was. Not so much a problem, I just hope it holds up alright especially for the $45 price considering my F91-W for a quarter of the cost feels indestructible. Buttons are easy to set, though I still need to play around with all the features still. They are responsive even though are a small size, I also hope these hold up well with time. I'm pretty happy with how it looks and feels, hugs the wrist quite nicely so it does not look bulky or like a toy. I may replace the band at some point with a higher quality metal band, as is the stock one is pretty nice. Far as the seller goes, the watch came inside a used looking box with a F91-W sticker inside it. I was expecting brand new but if it's not it still came in a great looking condition.

A suitable replacement
I have been wearing casio calculator watches for about 5 years now, and recently had a telememo 30's strap break. I know it's an easy fix but it was an excuse to upgrade to something a little bit classier. This is much sleeker than the previous model I had and looks great. The numbers on the face are much easier to push than the telememo 30, which has pretty tough buttons. The strap is easily adjusted and the brushed finish looks good. The only things I liked more on the telememo 30 was the backlight and the water resistance feature. This watch only has one lamp on the left side, which leaves the right side somewhat dim. It's not a problem as I can still read the time in the dark, but the indiglo style light on the telememo 30 was much brighter and lit the entire face evenly. Would give it 4.5 stars if I could, .5 off because of the dim backlight and lack of water resistance. Otherwise very satisfied with the product. 5 YEAR UPDATE: I've worn this watch every day only taking it off for showers and getting in water for the past five years and it is still on its first battery. I haven't had any problems wearing it while washing the dishes or walking in the rain. There is some wear on it as can be expected after five years. The printing on the number buttons has faded to the point where you can't really read them but after wearing it for five years I don't really need to see the print to know what numbers are which. The lines dilineating the number buttons are still visibke. The silver paint around the face does scratch a bit but the plastic underneath is a similar color so it's not noticeable unless you look at it closely. I still get compliments on this watch all the time. I like it so much I bought the gold color as well, but still prefer to wear the silver as my daily watch.

A geeky timepiece.
Is it worth 55 dollars? No, not at all. Is the light even worth having? Nope. Is the calculator useful in todayโs society? Nada. Is it well built with high quality finishing? Still no. Does the bracelet occasionally pinch your arm hair? Yep. Not really a great watch. Iโm sure sales are low on these and I understand why they wouldnโt offer a more premium one. However, itโs a calculator watch and way before my time, so I wanted to see what it was about. Just the fact that Casio still makes it is worth 5 stars. Kinda surprised how small it is even on my 6.75 wrist. Oh, I will actually give it a positive. It doesnโt have the inverted screen. Casioโs inverted screens are the worst Iโve ever seen. Casio, if youโre reading this, just stop it. Throw those screens away, no one can read themโฆ Like wow, theyโre bad. Thatโs a huge positive.

Reminds me of the DBC-610
I bought this watch because of the sleek case and I had a DBC-610 over 20 years ago which I lost. Kind of a nostalgia thing for me since I thought Casio would never make something like the DBC-610 again. I just received it and it looks almost like the DBC-610 except no letters on the keypad and the LCD is laid-out differently. One thing I would like to see is allowing letters in the telephone area of a tele-memo page. However it does have some features that the DBC-610 did not have such as the auto-light, currency conversion, 3-second vs. 1.5 second light, special alarms, and multi-lingual. I really like the snooze alarm and that when you switch modes you can still see the current time below it. Think I'll enjoy wearing this. I gave this 4 stars since I cannot enter letters into the telephone number area as an option. At least I don't think I can since I just receive this watch a few hours ago. I was excited when I saw on the Casio Asia site that they were bringing this style case and band back into production. At least we have access to something like this still in the U.S.A. Time will tell whether I'll really miss the schedule-memo concept that much. When I bought it I did not anticipate needing schedule-memo as I carry a cell-phone with me. Another thing I'd like to see on this watch is a stainless-steel case as the chrome plating wears off over time. Still this is a really neat product and I don't think there are other watches of its' kind that can match it.

and I'm not disappointed at all
I bought this watch as an upgrade from the black rubber watchband Casio, and I'm not disappointed at all! I wanted a Casio that could serve the same functions, but do more and this was it. It's multilingual, displays the full date, has a light, and has multiple alarms--plus, it's made of metal, so I know it'll last as compared to the rubber I had for my previous Casio. It's very sleek and I was able to adjust it to fit my rather small wrist with some additional effort. I had to look-up a YouTube video to figure it out unfortunately, but it wasn't too difficult at all with the internet's guidance. I was worried that it wouldn't adjust small enough to my wrist, since it's a Men's watch and so I expected it to run bigger, but it fits! Overall, it's definitely thinner than I had expected based on the images, which is great. The metal band links lay on my wrist nicely, so it isn't bulky at all either. The instruction manual it comes with is very thorough and clear about how to use each function, too (there's just so many!).

A gift from the past.
I owned the DBC-60 black in 1989 and I LOVED IT. I bought this one as soon as I realized it was being manufactured. I was not very happy about the plastic case until I realized that the impact in weight is quite positive: the watch feels very comfortable. To the functions: Watch: I like the DST function and how much info is displayed on screen. Data Bank: Not really usable on these smartphone days but still a nice feature to remind us of other times. This particular model does NOT have an alpha numeric keyboard, meaning you have to scroll each character instead of typing. I liked the alpha one better. Calculator: Nice exchange rate function added! I like that. Alarm: Not one but 5 Alarms! Sweet. I wish you could personalize the text on each one though. The signal :00 alarm for each hour beeps twice, but it is not the same quick two beeps as the original, but a bit more separated. Stopwatch: The expected functionality. No timer though. Light: I love it: The side LED looks exactly like the classic models of the time and it is good enough to read the time at night. For those of you who complain about the led, hey: this was the standard illumination in the eighties! The LED option adds to the classic look and feel. Some things I miss: I miss the Schedule function. That allowed alarms with personalized text to show up and remind you of things. I miss the alpha keyboard. I miss the pass-code function (and I really liked the "key" icon on the keypad). I miss the quicker double beep for signal. All in all, I love it. A definite keeper. I'll wait for a re-launch of the venerable telememo&schedule DBC-60. That will be the perfect companion for this one.

Only take it off when showering and when switching to another color/material of the same watch
I have one of these in every color, material, and model I can get my hands on. Bada**, unique, various functions (my dream is to one day ask for someoneโs number at a bar then meticulously type it into my Casio calculator watch and save it into the originally revolutionary and useful, now obsolete, database it possesses), and is easily the best conversation starter in any setting, especially when youโre a young female, because everyone worth getting to know will recognize this beaut, feel euphoric nostalgia while remember the happy moments from their childhood in the 80s, relate those feelings to you as a person and your character through assimilation, then say โis that a Casio calculator watch?โ Almost want to give a terrible rating to defer others from purchasing so I can keep this unique life-changing timekeeper to myself, lest it loses its magic.

Authentic and perfect
The watch is exactly what is shown in pictures. The size mentioned maybe wrong. I can confirm that the watch is authentic because it came with a nice box, manual, warranty card and I registered it's warranty with Casio and it got approved. Build quality is acceptable. For some reason, after unboxing I thought this maybe a fake cause the keypad doesn't look functional and the watch itself looked a lot smaller than I expected (almost like a toy), but it is fully functional. I know it says it is water resistant but keep it away from water, I think a few drops splashing maybe fine but nothing beyond that. Watch a youtube review to acquanit yourself with navigations and functions. My only complaint is that the strap pulls on your arm hair.

The perfect watch for the retronerd!
Exactly what I wanted. Well made, easy to adjust, works perfectly. The display face doesn't have a blue hue like the picture, its more of a grey. The band is also a bit thinner than I expected. And sometimes the button press isn't accurate. But otherwise a great addition to my collection!
