British Coins Market Values Paperback – 23 Sept. 2016

This book is adequate - but only just! I purchased it believing that it would provide a comprehensive listing of Great British coins and their market values. I already collect United States currency and had hoped that this book would be the equivalent of the well-known Red and Blue Books. I was, therefore, very disappointed that, unlike the Red Book, this book only lists items up to the year 2010 and, furthermore, for many of the decimal currencies, simply 'lumps' a whole sequence of currency releases under a single-line entry! Also, it is not spiral bound, nor dos it appear that a spiral bound option is available, so it is near to impossible to keep the book open flat at your chosen / relevant page! So, the title is not correct - it states '2017 British Coins Market Values' - yet it only goes up to 2010! and it fails in respect of not being able to be used as a concise catalogue of ones growing GB currency collection! If this is the only book available, then, by all means, purchase it - but be aware of its inherent inadequacies!

Very useful book - already paid for itself several times over. Prices tend to be lower than in the Spink standard reference book, particularly for high grade coins. A must for coin collectors.
