Big and sturdy.
We chose the Buckingham Foldeasy after looking at many similar products available at Amazon. It looked well-designed and the customer reviews were good. We had already bought and returned a very different sort of toilet rail product, one that bolts to the back of the toilet. But assembled it was too wiggly and insecure to give our mother the confidence to use it. This one looked as though it had a stable design, the whole thing sitting four-square on the floor. But, alas, we still had to return it as it did not fit. It too wide for the space available in our mother's small bathroom, banging into a side wall, but it was also not deep enough. With the frame's footplate on the floor in front of the projecting pedestal of our mother's elongated-bowl style toilet, the back of the frame stood too far away from the tank for the toilet seat to be properly raised. If there is adequate space on the sides of your toilet, and if your toilet's pedestal at floor level does not project too far forward to fit the Buckingham's depth (the distance from the foot plate to the back rail of the frame), this would be a very good free-standing toilet grab bar frame. It is clean-lined, sturdy and stable. We were sorry we couldn't use it.

Just what we needed!
This item is just what we needed! Our last set of support rails for the toilet attached to the toilet seat itself and began to chip and rust almost right away. This product is sturdy and VERY easy to assemble. It is substantial but not overly heavy. We have not yet used it for road trips, but it holds promise for success. Accessible bathroom facilities in hotels vary greatly and are often far less than satisfactory. Staying with friends? We bring along our own handicapped accessible toilet. We envision popping the Foldeasy in to the car with the wheelchair and the suitcases. We are very happy with this product.

So far so good!
I really needed a fast solution to a 90-year old mother who has fallen twice recently. She requires a riser and they never seem to fit without at least a small amount of wobbling. I researched a number of options, then ran them by her for opinions. Together we agreed on this one. Thanks to amazon Prime I got Sunday delivery and ran it right over to her. There are no parts to put together, and it has height adjustment on the legs. The arms are padded also, and it has a high weight-bearing capacity. We "test drove it" a couple times and I made it very clear to her to lean equally on BOTH arms, not one, or it may try to flip over. My mother's mental state is declining so we shall see if this device keeps her safe. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW IF OUR EXPERIENCE CHANGES.Pros:Well madeNo assembly requiredAdjustable heightPadded barsVersatile - not just a bathroom safety item. The foot paddle can be flipped up and clamped to the leg if you don't want to use it (but it's a BIG part of keeping this item stable for toilet use so we have it down).Cons:Still rather narrow if you are "broad in the beam"The bars that go behind the toilet seat lid can force the lid to want to closeIt seems somewhat over-priced compared to other similar itemsIf it doesn't work for you, it is NON-RETURNABLE, according to the merchant, True Choice Stores (cannot be opened or used, and customer pays shipping back - and it's a heavy and bulky box).

Great product
This worked perfect for my elderly mother at a recent stay at a hotel, I did not have to worry about handicap rooms that don't have grab bars or they are so far away they're useless. Folds up like a walker so easy to load in the car.

Very stable and aesthetically pleasing
We ordered this for my father when he returned home from a rehab hospital using a walker following a stroke. The Buckingham Foldeasy was placed at an elongated handicap height toilet. From its initial use, my 6 foot tall father found it quite comfortable to use and very stable. Visually it is unobtrusive and does not look institutional which is also a plus. It was easy to move from one bathroom to another when necessary. The fact that it comes assembled was also welcome. We would recommend highly.

That you need to have a higher toilet. Presently using but to low.
It is well built. Monday the 19 I am having a higher toilet installed which I planned to do prior to my ordering.

This is the second of these I've bought. One ...
This is the second of these I've bought. One is in my bathroom at home and the other is in my wheelchair van. There is a footplate spanning the two front legs; it serves to stabilize the unit. However, the footplate often interferes with the projecting front of the toilet base [particularly newer model toilets], and the only way to make it work is to remove the footplate. This is what happened in my bathroom. I had the footplate removed, and I put up with the resulting instability of the frame in order to get free-standing bathroom bars that raise to a high enough level for me. Because I never know what sort of toilet I'll encounter when I leave the house for MD appointments, I asked that the footplate on the unit that's in my van also have the footplate removed. To be clear, the result is a wobbly frame, but it's never fallen over or failed to hold my weight.
