Very accurate Chrono for under 100 bucks
For under 100 bucks I figured I can't go wrong, and I wasn't disappointed.A friend of mine has a very expensive chrono that he uses for real weapons and I compared it to this one that I'm using, for Airsoft guns, and it was within +/- 4 fps.(but was under $100...$89.96 and free shipping to be exact(prime member))I also compared this to my Xcortech X3200 chrono and there was only a 2 fps difference(the 3200 being 2 fps faster)Hmmm, guess the 3200 chrono they use at the skirmishes is reading real high as my M4 on theirs reads 392 fps average and on this Pro Chrono its 378 fps average....Its easy to setup..., no bells and whistles, just an on/off switch on the side and a recall button on the front for HI, LOW and Average FPS.Since I don't have to worry about muzzle flash with Airsoft guns, I rest the end of the barrel right on the top of the unit whenfiring, keeping it lined up level and straight of course. It seems to work in all types of sun light, but having the sun at you 6:00 without casting a shadow over the unit, appears to be the best... In fact the sun was down(dusk) and it was still reading perfectly. The chrono uses a single 9V battery and has a spare batter compartment within the main battery compartment on the bottom.I did add four large clear cabinet door bumpers on the bottom to give it a more stable feeling as the tiny bumps in the plastic case for legs are just too small.Overall, I think this is a great chrono( and I'm going to bring it to the next field event to recheck their chrono readings)Recommended...

Excellent simple to use chrono
I bought this because I just needed simplicity with no technical/bluetooth fancy stuff. It was windy when I set it up, very windy. The wind picked up the box and hurled it ten feet. I hadn't even used it yet!! #*$&%$#@^&%$$!!!Set it up, turned it on and presto! It worked fine. The drop didn't effect it all that I can tell. It isn't literally bullet proof but it is very rugged and simple to use. Just what I wanted. It just plain works and is not fussy.

Works pretty good
As noted, this is the Pro Crhrono "PAL" - as in not the full featured model. Overall works pretty well but doesn't catch them all, I actually have to shoot further away from the Chrono than expected - about 8" is the sweet spot as far as I can tell. It has worked on .22 cal pellets at 600fps, 10mm pistol at 1,300fps, and 5.56 at 3,000fps - pretty wide spectrum so far, I don't have any worries about it serving my needs for simple chrono validations.

Works like a charm
Simple to set up. Components are good quality. I haven't had any miss-readings yet. I've used it in sunny and overcast conditions. Tripod mount works well. Takes a 9V battery and has a compartment for a spare which is clever. Being able to review the high, low and average shot velocity is very convenient. The chrony also notifies you when a followup shot is the same velocity as the previous, so that you know it's a duplicate and not a miss-read.Well worth the money!Ordering and shipping to South Africa went smoothly.

Awesome little chronograph, simple plug and play and just plain works!
This thing simply works! After reading a lot of reviews about chronographs and worrying that they'd simply end up frustrating me with light sensitivity issues, etc., I broke down and decided to get one of the cheapest ones I could find that ACTUALLY had decent reviews, this one. I took it out on a warm day here in california, very sunny, and shot all day without more than one or two errors, which from what I've researched is friggin phenomenal! I highly recommend this little chrono.... Super simple, plug and play, and seems right on par accuracy-wise with what I've seen my air rifle chronographed at on various youtube vids by reputable airgun experts.

Easy setup!
Nice and easy setup. I don't have anything else to compare it to but seems accurate. Tested on two rifles; 30-06, 165gr Barns ttsx, 58gr of h4350. Chrono registered 2868fps. .270 Win, shot 2956fps. Tested on a Diamond black ice bow at around 60lb draw weight, shot kinda slow, at 275 fps.You will need a camera tripod to hold it up, threading is 1/4-20. Setup is easy, put in battery, attach rods, attach plastic shade cover, turn on and go. does do recall for highest, lowest and average for one session. Will not recall if turned off. Once turned off, all records are erased!

Mechanical Offset is Not Your Friend
It was decent until I forgot about mechanical offset, and a 62 grain bullet travelling 2300 fps shredded the top of it. Oh well, I wanted a new one anyway.

Save your money!
Bought this on the advice of a member from one of my clubs after trouble with two Caldwell units. Unit is erratic and works sometimes and then not at all! Used it at my indoor club; one day it worked, the next it didn't, tried changing batteries, moving farther back, and multiple calibers failed to register. I'll wait and buy a Lab Radar unit next.

Happy Shooter
Really like this chronograph. Used it only two times, once to check rifle reloads on a bright sunny day, and another time for handgun reloads on a cloudy day. Never missed a reading. First time owning a chronograph, and you always wonder how accurate it is, but ran some factory ammo through it and it was only a few feet off the stated box velocity. Read about some complaints about the metal folding chronographs, and witnessed some of the problems with other range members units. That's why I choose this brand instead. This is the basic model, it will display each shots speed, and when you are done your string, you can review ONLY the hi, low, and average speed. There is no review for each shot, no standard deviation, ect. I really can't complain about that because I knew that when purchasing it, and the DIGITAL model has those options, but I wasen't willing to pay for them. If you need that info it is available with the DIGITAL model. Would I purchase it again? Yup. Recommend it? Yup again.
