Stay Warm, Save Smart! ❄️
The Farm Innovators TC-2 Thermo Cube is a thermostatically controlled double outlet that plugs into a standard 15 amp electrical outlet. It automatically turns power on when temperatures drop to approximately 20°F and off when they rise above 30°F, making it ideal for automotive applications like engine and battery heaters. With two receptacles, it allows for the use of multiple devices, ensuring efficient energy use and convenience.

These temperature switches work great! Keep outdoor cats cozy and healthy.
I have both the TC-2 and TC-3 units. The TC-2 unit (20 degrees on, 30 degrees off) controls an immersed heater in the circulating water fountain I constructed for pet drinking water. The circulation pump by itself keeps water flowing above 20 degrees. Below 20 degrees, this switch enables an immersed aquarium heater to add heat to the system to keep it from freezing. Works great, and cats love to drink from the flowing fountain. The TC-3 unit (35 degrees on, 45 degrees off) controls power to 2 low wattage heating pads that the cats sleep on in their outdoor shelter to keep them nice and toasty. I also feed power to a low wattage decorative rope light so I can tell when it comes on (not sure if the cats have figured that out yet). The temperature settings appear to be fairly accurate, to within a degree or so.I have had no problems with either the TC-2 or the TC-3 units. I have used them for several seasons and they keep working. I am very happy with them.

Great concept
I use these for protecting outdoor shrubs that would be killed or damaged by temperatures below about 15 F. I have a small spotlight that generates heat inside a bag that covers the plant. Without these cubes I had to have the lights on all night during cold weather. With them, the lights go on by themselves when the temperature drops to around 20. My only issue with these is that for some reason the plugs are difficult to plug into certain receptacles. I couldn't get them into some of my extension cords at all. Others I had to push very hard. I'm also concerned that if the unit fails, my plants will die. When I left the lights on, I could easily tell if one burned out. But with these cubes, there is no real way to tell if the unit has gone bad.

They don't work.
I originally bought a Thermo-cube rated on at 35ºF, off at 45ºF to control the engine block heater on my truck. Operation was erratic. Did I learn? Oh no! I decided to try this Thermo-cube rated on at 20ºF, off at 30ºF. 16º F outside tonight so I went out to check if it was working. My trucks block heater was OFF. Removed the Thermo-cube from the circuit and plugged the cord directly into the GFCI receptacle. Block heater is now ON. Don't waste your money on these things. They are junk!

A simple device, which simply works as advertised.
I bought this to control the silicone pad oil pan and battery heaters on my truck, because you aren’t supposed to heat the battery if it is above freezing. It works well.I have about a dozen of the on at 35, off at 45 ones installed in well houses with space heaters plugged in, just in case the wall heaters fail. Between the thermocube and the heater I’m into it fifty bucks. The last time one of the well houses lost heat and I had to repipe it the cost was $1400.

Works, but needs climate protection
Needs protection from the elements. Hanging it in an upside down plastic coffee can seemed to provide adequate climate protection. Noticed some variability from the declared on/off temperature values, but not enough to affect my use of the unit.

Working correctly is crucial for this product, and it failed.
It got below 20 degrees and the heat lamp plugged into it never came on. This is a product that you WANT to be able to depend on to work right or animals can freeze! This is, I believe, an American company with this product being made in America. I expected more.

Terribly cheap quality
Wish this was a better quality product, especially at $20 for something this simple. The grounding pin came right out when unplugging, probably the 2nd time. I hadn't even been able to verify that the thermostatic control worked properly before it came apart.

Temperature sensing not v. accurate
We have this connected to a pond-heater. The plug was purchased to try and save electricity by turning off the pond heater when the weather is not freezing cold, but the heater just seems to be on all the time. The device in installed in a box alongside an air pump (also for the pond), which presumably generates a small amount of heat. The box also provides shelter from the wind, so the temperature in the box is likely higher than the outside ambient temperature. Despite this, the pond heater has been on when the temperature is above 45F. This leads me to believe the temperature sensor on the device is not very accurate.
